Howdy Folks. Been a while , Hope this finds you all healthy and well
Some more madness Suite:Covidia

Boring stuff below

I was jamming away on my piano with biab TECHHOP.STY for a a solid 10 minutes and recording what I played. Well 97%
of the results were just rubbish but I did get some riffs that i thought were passable. So I stuck the ok bits together (hence the rather pretentious "Suite" in the title) and sang some stream of conscious words over the top . It is still a mess and very much a work in progress and I may have posted this prematurly but I need some fresh ears to help beat this into shape , so critiques are very welcome.
BTW I am enjoying everyones music.

Lyrics.
if they gave it to you
would you give it to me
if they gave it to you
there is no gaurantee

In the year 2020
Covid virus came to town
but we will not be defeated
Gonna cut that sucker down

They locked us in our houses
And threw away the key
will they ever find a cure
we have to wait and see

I found out that they're telling lies
Come on baby don't compromise
I fought hard for my liberty
Don't take my freedom away from me

I got tested and I'm doing fine
Stood all day in the welfare line
I fought hard for my liberty
Don't take my freedom away from me

Oh, yeah, Gary. I could listen to you play piano for hours. So 10 minutes? No problemmo. This is fun stuff. Reminds me of a band I was in like 50 years ago. Me (bass), a Juilliard pianist and a drummer trying to emulate The Nice (Keith Emerson). Really nice touch on the keys. Wait there was more to the song... another listen (after Beethoven's Op. 27). Ok. Yeah, the rest of the tracks are REALLY cool. A wonderful composition. Very well done. Hurry back with the next one.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Thank you Marty for your nice comments.
Also thank you for being brave enough to be the first to comment as I was a bit concerned that this was a little too wild.
Cheers.

Hi Gary ...

I think you have a really good song here. Totally loved your piano track ... strong and powerful and led the way for the rest of the band. The mix sound just right and your vocal shines ... and is placed exactly where it should be.

Loved the power and energy of the whole thing! This is some strong stuff!

Best to you. Be safe ...

Alan

That piano playing is powerful.
Rather eclectic production.

It made me think of this:

Wow, very good piano and arrangement, I really enjoyed listening. With the lyrics, I felt like you went with the first rhyme that came to your head instead of bearing down and coming up with some truly memorable lines. That may not matter to you and I understand that - not everyone weights lyrics highly. But it was still a terrific listen and I am now listening again! Good job.

Thank you TM.
It's nice to "talk" with you again.
Yes you are correct about the lyrics and I will work on them.I get lazy and forget that the purpose of the music is to serve the lyrics.
Thank you for listening and your wise commentary.

Whew!! i don't know what to say. That was a wild ride! Great idea to get that rhythm going then just get creative in a stream-of-consciousness kind of way. Loved it all!

My 1st thought was that YES it does need some work...things like the snare roll need some tweaking and there's the occasional hesitant spot in the piano work.
BUT not too much tweaking as this flows and has a good level of infectious energy.
Well done.

Cheers

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
