We have asked this question before, Well, I have concluded that for me, the answer is yes. But a 90% off sale is something every one should be aware of and then make their own decision. So I am leaving it up to you to decide for yourself.

90% OFF: SAMPLETEKK EMOTIONAL PIANO BUNDLE

And if you need a little help, here is my friend Simeon to give you a demo.

I've got a fair number of pianos, but I'm always on the lookout for another.

Right now, Simple Sam Signature Steinway is high on my Black Friday list. It's discounted to $50, and has a bunch of presets matched to famous piano recordings.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

I personally say no such thing as too much, especially if the price is right as you said. I'm guilty of having tons that have collected over the years but I've never really figured my library was 'too large' or anything. smile

All I want for Christmas is a GOOD Rhodes VST. The ones I have simply don't work. The chorus doesn't work, or the reverb... when you look at the settings screen t here is nothing responsive.

A lot of people like Lounge Lizard but that's like $200 I think. That's $200 more than I would spend on a music tool since I don't play out to earn that $200 back.

I am using the new 1040XTRAEZ form this year. It has just 2 lines.

1. How much did you make in 2023?
2. Send it to us.

But is it really a deal once you add in the cost of requiring the full version of Kontakt instead of making the VSTi compatible with the free Kontakt player?

Sampletekk Emotional Piano Bundle
90% OFF: SAMPLETEKK EMOTIONAL PIANO BUNDLE
GET

90% OFF

NOTE: This library requires the full (paid) version of Kontakt 4 or higher

Of course, that is the first thing you need to ask when you buy a NI sound library. Which is why years ago I spent the ~$119 sale price for Kontakt 5. Allowed me to pick up some nice sounds at a good price since then.

Current Kontakt 6 - Full version: $199.50. Update from KONTAKT 1-5: $99.00.

Thanks for finding this. After watching the video, it seems like a nice deal, and since I've got Kontakt, the price is definitely right. Just ordered it from Audio Plugin Deals (and found out I have $60 in rewards cash based on previous deals - can't use the $60 for a Deal, only for the Shop, but for the future, I might find something else I want and can save a little).

The question of can you have too many pianos seems to crop up occasionally. I created a backing track. In the RealTrack the piano had a buzzing type sound I did not like. (It is a natural sound but I did not want it).

I then generated a MIDI SuperTrack. I have lots of pianos including several Kontakt versions, a number of older Cakewalk pianos, Addictive Keys and more. In the end I was not 100% happy with any of them. (Bit too fussy I guess).

Recently I purchased a number of VSL Orchestral instruments. In one of the packs was the Synchron Pianos Steinway. It was exactly what I wanted.

Can one have too many pianos? Maybe the next one is just what you need.

My thoughts
Tony

One of the reasons I purchased the full version was to take advanage of the freebees which come along. Like this one right now...

Google/Bing free kontakt piano instruments and you will find a number of piano presets for both Kontakt and Kontakt Player.

But talked myself out of spending the money. Even at current half price, didn't think I needed another felt. But then LoKi came to me free with the similar "particles engine". This is a very beautiful sound. If you have the full version of Kontakt, don't miss this one.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
