First of all, an apology. I haven't been on this forum for a while - at least, not regularly - and, as a result, I haven't listened to as much of your wonderful music, of late, as I would like - to say the least.

The reason for that is that I have a VERY important non-musical commitment in the first to second week of December, and that has eaten almost all of my concentration. Almost ... because, in my spare time and in order to relax (as you can see), I've been writing.

So ... in short: SORRY for posting up yet another track when I haven't listened to your tracks as much as I should have. I want to hear more from you and I will ... as soon as this commitment disappears, haha. But ... in the meantime, I just could not resist posting this ... just in case someone is interested in listening to it anyway - and is ready to forgive me for all that I've mentioned above.

Thanks for your kind understanding! :-)

James, I liked everything about this! The kind of solitary instrumentation, the deliberate tango rhythm, the melody (esp the first few phrase)--and I really liked the key change interlude--very nice! Great work all the way around, and thank you for posting this!

Oh, so nicely done, James. That lilting melody of the "flute", the guitar take-over, the key-change, AND the Tango all expertly done. Thanks. You are a smart man to take time out of such a commitment to create. Now, go; you are forgiven. Stay well.

Enjoy whatever happens!

James, you're really so versatile !

I have to admit I don't know not much (if anything at all) about that genre, but I enjoyed the listen. Sounds very good.

Take care and stay well,

Stefan

Thanks Stefan. It's my first foray into the tango genre (I heard someone sing a tango song at the weekend and thought I'd write one myself, haha), so I didn't know how it was going to turn out. I'm glad you enjoyed it, therefore! You too, please take care and stay safe and well!

Thanks Janice and Bud! I forgot to state: the flute and clarinet soloists are written by me, by hand (i.e. note for note) in Sibelius (and mixed in Audacity). But yes ... the backing track is all BIAB!!! What would I, for one, do without BIAB??? A quite superb arrangement it's provided for this tango attempt of mine ... all I needed was to write the actual chords and the melody on top of it :-) THANKS PGMusic!!! :-) and thanks Janice and Bud, so kind of you to listen and comment, as always!

Tango can be rather sultry, this one lightens it up a bit with the flute keeping the mood more airy and happy.

Well done

moto

Thanks Captain Moto - and yes, absolutely spot on, mine is somewhat lighter due to the major key melody and the use of the flute :-) Well spotted. I was listening to some light Mexican music before I decided to write this, so that's probably why! :-)

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
