Please meet Vali Myers

If interested please read.......

I have always admired those wonderful eccentrics who dare to be different and consequently make our world a far more colourful and interesting place to be. This is a song about one such luminary , Vali Myers (1930-2003) . Gone but not forgotten.
Please forgive my rather unlovely voice as I attempt to introduce you to Vali and perhaps you may recognise a little of yourself in her.I hope you do.

Lyrics.

That woman is not afraid to wear a funny hat
Or tell you what she thinks of this or that
high heels, pink dresses , hair in a clutch
I could argue -- it was---a little too much

a multicolored peacock print on her shoulder
no fashion rule could ever hold her
being t he woman that she has to be
the universe has set her free

she acted like her soul is 20 years old
she just do't care , she just don't care.
oddball , kooky , out of control
she just do't care , she just don't care.

she talks to birds and she talks to trees
she talks of rainbows and erotic dreams
she eats raw cabbage and seaweed soup
went skydiving in her birthday suit

A herb garden sits in an overgrown yard
her house is BoHo - Avant-Garde
a mischievous smile a whimsy wit
will cast a spell for your benefit

she acted like her soul is 20 years old
she just do't care , she just don't care.
oddball , kooky , out of control
she just do't care , she just don't care.

she loves to dance and it's plain to see
full of cre-a-tiv-ity
she has a little fox and a big black crow
known as the witch of Posi-tano

A shock of red hair all wild and curled
shes a little bit lost in her own little world
Stunning once again in her bright silhouette
she likes hanging out with the secret set

she acted like her soul is 20 years old
she just do't care , she just don't care.
oddball , kooky , out of control
she just do't care , she just don't care.
==============================

I was feeling lazy and let biab do all the work
with some cutting and pasting and pushing and pulling.

Gary,

Well done. A good write. Nice rhythm to the tracks.

A good arrangement. Good mix.

The vocal effects on the chorus work well.

This an interesting write and very passionately delivered. That was a wild and very creative ending to the solo. Great editing and use of the real tracks. A really entertaining and captivating listen, Tom

Very creative, reminded me a little of Lou Reed lyrically. Nice work!

Man, this sounds like early Bowie meets T. Rex meets the New York Dolls, meets Lou Reed.

Love it!

Great arrangement, write and band. Hey don't sell your self short vocally -- it's very soulful and
for us that is what we listen for in any genre.

The imagery is particularly standout and you wrapped it all up with a nice mix.

Enjoyed it!

Vali was a wild Australian Girl.
I pretty sure she did care - she cared to make a statement and to create a reaction. She also cared to look stylish.
I dig the song though...

Cheers

Very good writing!

Good performance also, the chorus especially is very well done.

Nice dynamics, loved the way you broke it down after the solo and brought it back up again.

Enjoyed!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
