This is a class act of a song. The musical writing and performance are wonderful, but the lyrics make it go that all-too-crucial extra mile. The memory of the smoke and the line about the sand are particular highlights. Wow. Nothing else to say - just that this song made me feel as if I was there with the character and his memories. And that's something special to convey to a listener, I feel. Thanks for sharing this and sincerest congratulations. That is a terrific review. Thank you much,Tom

Olfactory memories, like Leon said, can catch you off-guard and- in this case, prompt you to buy a pack of Lucky's. Love it, Tom. Everything about it. Really top-notch. Marty, the thought of cigarettes never entered my mind. I, like many of us I’m sure have put that type of smoke far in the past. Although a good cigar does keep away the mosquitoes. As I recall she wasn’t a cigar smoker either. Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate the comments coming from a fine musician as yourself, Tom

Several great lines in this song: 'if you ever hold on to a little bit of sand the tighter you squeeze the more it runs through your hand' and 'We wrapped ourselves in love and wore it so well' were my favorites. And sung so well! Excellent work! TM, I thank you for the very thoughtful comments, Tom Another quality write. Everything is top notch. Glad you liked it Herb, Tom

Tommy,
Magnetic from the start—really crisp, fulsome sound. Terrific write, great lines throughout—love that pre-chorus (both the writing, but also the melody that goes with—great lead in to the chorus). Nothing not to like here . . . just a really excellent country tune. Impressive tune.
All my best
Deej

Beautiful song Tommy. It is amazing how powerful our senses are. A sound, a fragrance can take you back to a place in time. Beautiful lyric an awesome vocal and guitar work. Well done Scott, I’m glad you liked it,Tom Big drums, good instrumentals, nice mix. Subtle backing vocals, nice sound!
I like the phrasing, especially the I still smell smoke.
Favorite line: Before I knew it she was in my past.
I really enjoyed listening! David, thanks for pointing all that out. I appreciate your support,Tom

Hello tommyad,
It is a beautiful composition. I enjoyed the introduction of the mandolin. The melody and the mix are well done. And everything pleases the ear. Well done.
Happy new year

Tommy, This is powerful and great! Well done! I remember my first girlfriend. I still smell smoke too, but I think it was a different kind of smoke. Merry Christmas.

What the heck to say? Leon set the piano on fire and exited the stage after his comments You threw it all out there ... Great vocals, write, instrumental performances and your always high production values with those RT's, loops and TA. Cool to hear the mando in there too. "Back in the day Before it all went to hell We wrapped ourselves in love And wore it so well" Janice wanted to single that out as it flowed so well... J&B Thanks for all that. Reviews like this make it easy to continue this creative journey. Your support means everything,Tom

Olfactory reminiscence is a powerful thing. I woke from a dream yesterday with the smell of smoke in my head. I blame you. The pre chorus & chorus really work a treat building and lifting. Ace Tommy, ace.

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
