Realise 812 is still in beta, but cannot get it to render MIDI melody track via drop-box. File with correct name appears in 'Drag Drop' folder, but without MIDI data. '811' works normally.
Would it be possible please for someone to check if this happens with their setup or is a peculiarity with my kit?

Would it be possible please for someone to check if this happens with their setup or is a peculiarity with my kit? If you "render" the midi track you will only have Audio Data. That's what rendering does. So I tried a midi melody track, dragged to drop box (mp3) and the midi tract was rendered to an .mp3 file, created in the x:\\bb\dragdrop folder. Are you trying to export the midi tract to a midi file?? OK, that could be a problem. I tried to get the midi track from the melody and no go. There is no data on the .mid file. Works fine on other midi tracks in BIAB but not the melody track for me.

Thank you. Yes, was dragging MIDI melody track to 'Mid' on the drop-box. Not sure if that's what is supposed to be done to produce a MIDI file, but has always worked for me in the past!

Sorry, I just updated and confirmed the same problem with the midi file from Melody in Build 812. See above.

I don't even see build 812, not that I'm in any hurry to patch. Lots of bugs still to be worked in out in 2021 -- perhaps a bit of a rush to market for the holiday season? I'm on 811 and still seeing bugs -- solo track doesn't mute, Supertracks don't always load (verified that I have them), mixer volumes not always responsive, etc. Many of the new styles are great tho, and I like the utility tracks.

812 is still in Beta... Andrew made it available to me to get rid of the noise problem at the end of songs. I'm sure the tested release will be out soon with more fixes.

I believe we likely should not have brought the discussions of Build 812 out to the general forum since it is not released. These have a way of spilling over with this many builds moving this fast.
You are right, lots of bugs to be worked out in 2021. But there is lots happening in the background to get these things fixed. So stay tuned to the updates as they come.

At the risk of appearing to 'pile on the agony' there seems to be a problem with MIDI melody mixer track not playing in builds 811/2. All the notes are there when viewed in 'Notation', but track is entirely silent. Have reverted to 809 which is fine.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
