WISH #2. PG RETHINK BIAB SAVE FEATURES. save features /functions are hidden in all sorts of "nooks and crannys". spread out thru the package. (this has bugged me.!) BUT i'm sure most musos would like save simplified ?
DONT MOST PEOPLE , LIKE ME, HAVE ONE FOLDER FOR A SONG ? where everything related to that song goes ? ie traks/biab files/notes etc etc. DOESNT THIS MAKE SENSE ? for example lets take a song i do in march 2021. it would be in a sub folder with song name and date. within the main SONGS2021 folder. make sense ? lets say the song is called "MEOW CAT SAMBA". so the song folder is named for example "MEOWCATMAR21". EVERYTHING RELATED TO THE SONG GOES IN THAT FOLDER.
THUS ! given the above, does it not make sense when a user starts a new song/project and presses NEW in the menu that biab(or RB) asks......... "WHERE DO YOU WANT ALL CREATED CONTENT TO BE SAVED" ? (ie everything that biab and the user create.) and one identifies the relevant folder , in this case "MEOWCATMAR21". THUS. the biab files/content would be in the same folder as the daw content/traks. makes trak loading into daw simple, makes back ups simple. no transfers into daw folder needed.
thus ! no wondering "where did that go" for newbies. make the save function OVERT INSTEAD OF COVERT.
the benefit is simple. a muso can just get on mapping out the song without worrying bout where everything is saved to.
before everyone asks. of course there would be overrides. just one benefit. no more getting into the drag/drop folder and dragging a RT into the folder where you keep your daw recorded traks. THE RT IS ALREADY THERE ! etc etc. another benefit (override able). you know when you go into the radio button to save the RT as a wav ?? then you wait ?? no more of that either. of course the option would be there to send the RT somewhere else also.
in summary FASTER WORK FLOW. NO INTERRUPTIONS. BAM ! because the muso knows where all traks are being stored in advance of laying out chord arrangement. make sense ??

Good idea. While this is an option that's been available for a few years although apparently not well known, I'm mentioning it here because it is a feature that can be improved on and might be an essential workflow tool even with the introduction of Utility Tracks this year.
First, just the process of doing a "Save" or "Save as" of a project prompts the user to select a save folder. Doing so immediately after beginning a "New" project would be ideal for the creation of sub-folders named after the 8 BIAB Mixer Legacy Channels - Bass, Piano, Drums, Guitar, Strings, Melody, Soloist and Audio.
Artist Performance Tracks are available for each of the Legacy channels and saving a file with this option names the file using a naming convention that BIAB recognizes and imports that saved audio onto the appropriate BIAB Mixer Channel. On versions prior to 2021, an Artist Performance also changes the tracks color and freezes the track.
Adding appropriate sub-folders would allow multiple audio files to be saved for input into DAW's or to choose as an alternate track for the BIAB project.

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows® Today!
Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows for free with build 1111!
With this update, there's more control when saving images from the Print Preview window, we've added defaults to the MultiPicker for sorting and font size, updated printing options, updated RealTracks and other content, and addressed user-reported issues with the StylePicker, MIDI Soloists, key signature changes, and more!
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
