I've liked everything you've ever done, but this is way ahead of anything else.
Apart from the fact that it's a fabulous song, the arrangement is just SO clever.
The groove is right there from the start and then just when I expected the voice
to come in on the tonic, it comes in on the fourth - beautiful. And then it's got that
super break-down on the pre-chorus. I haven't seen a pre-chorus since the 90s, when it
seemed obligatory and this one fitted the mood perfectly. And the ending - icing on the cake.

Wonderful heartfelt vocals Janice, dripping with emotion and probably the best I've
heard from you to date. The harmonies were just exceptional and timed to perfection.
Brought me out in goose bumps again.

Peter - again, the best I've heard you play. Very delicate, with some phrasing which
I've not heard you use before. Great tone and a restrained performance which was exactly
right for this track.

Bud - what can I say about the engineering, other than the mix is professional in every way.

This is one which I'm going to be playing a lot.

ROG.

Wow! ROG we hugely appreciate those comments. Peter had big input into the arrangement and we all three appreciate you mentioning it. J&B are barely knowledgeable when it comes to music theory -- Janice just sings a lyric as she feels it and doesn't focus on the note(s) she's singing. We don't use pitch editing so we've never parse it out...but she was VERY pleased you liked it even if she's not exactly sure what she did! smile Leon's fine lyric and Peter's playing were a big, big part of this and we glad all of the components worked for you. Your thoughts are always meaningful and very supportive for us.

Thank you!

I've told you many times that I know the venue I am in when these songs are being played LIVE. It's more vivid than if I had actually seen it. You have a natural instinct for being able to pull this off.

Also, it's really not fair that I am expected to keep short responses on such fantastic work. There is no "weak link" in this. Every link stronger than the last.

The short list.

Lyrics-what a joy to hear such interestingly well thought out lyrics that sound effortless. Top notch.

Singing-I swear you are at a level that you could sing with a cold and my jaw would still drop. I ALWAYS enjoy your vocal tone and style that you bring.

Guitar-I'm not sure if I can just rubber stamp my screen, but it's a "wow" from me every time. I'm never even sure how to express how much I love your playing.

Mix-That's a nice club you've made for them to play in. The best band in a bad room is easily mistaken for a bad band. A great band in a great room is truly fantastic. I've come to expect this clean yet warm sound with you songs. I can 100% tell you I don't believe I could ever do what you do. Easily some of the favorite mixes I hear.

Snare-Sorry, it needed it's own mention space. VERY well done. It's got snap. It's got warmth. It's got fullness girth, cuts through, yet doesn't get in the way. That is one TALL order to pull off. Mark me impressed!

Arrangement and PROduction-written that way intentionally-man was this song great! The space when the song needed it. The fullness as needed as well. Heck, even the shimmer complimented what was going on in a really nice way. Everything has a place and fit so nicely to make a really complete work. I really enjoy listening to songs that are crafted in a way that parts actually support each other and the song; instead of simply "fill it with something to make it seem full." You have purpose. You've created ebbs and tides. It's a wonderful experience for the listener.

Photography-What a cool picture! It looks very natural, yet...did you mention composite? Or, did you mean composition? Either way, it's a fantastic picture. But you really have me wondering. Your color schemes are always really cool to see. They create a vibe.

...and that IS the short version! smile Thank you so much for sharing this!

Thank you BIG TIME. And, man, coming from a drummer that mention of the snare made my day. Janice put on a BIG smile when she read your vocal comments. And Bud is delighted you like the live feel of the mix. That's always my objective irrespective of the genre. I have doubts about achieving that so your remark is very supportive. And yes, Leon wrote a tremendous lyric and Peter iced it all with that tasteful guitar.

MOST appreciated!

She's a talent!

Great Job,

Greg

PS I agree with the Aces comment as well. I've recently been listening to the "Too Stuffed To Jump" album and decided to work up "The End Is Not In Sight" with my band... Probably been 30+ years since I've done that song! Just as fun as it ever was!

Thank you for the kind words Greg.

Guess we’re gonna have to revisit that Aces catalog!

Janice, Bud and Peter
I'm sure Peter will agree with me when I say it's always a huge pleasure and a privilege to hear Janice sing one of our songs. It really would be hard to overstate the kick it gives me. In this case she not only brought the song to life with her extraordinary voice, but also with a perfectly chosen chord progression and melody. To top it off, the arrangement you three collectively created is superb. As is the mix. Fabulous work by a trio of very talented people. (And I certainly appreciate all the nice comments about the lyrics.)
Regards,
Leon

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
