Hello the team,

Your site is excellent but does not reflect reality. When I look at views on the compositions, it doesn't mean anything because people haven't listened to the composition. And that's a shame, because composers think that people don't just read the comments but listen to the compositions to form an opinion on the use of Biab. You should create an additional column with the listenings of the compositions.

Best wishes for the new year. Take care of yourself.

Kindly regaeds

As you have mentioned, in the User Showcase forum, there is a column that lists the number of Views that a post has received. This can also be sorted from low-to-high and high-to-low order.

The link to the song usually takes the viewer to a separate presentation medium, e.g. Soundcloud, YouTube etc. The BiaB program would not be able to determine if a listener actually played the song or not, listened to all or part of it, or perhaps listened to it several times, so I don't know how this might work.

Or have I completely missed the intention of your post?

I don't know how they could determine that, either. Also, there is the question of unique visitors versus repeat visitors. Thus I never pay much attention to visit counters.

There also maybe some bots included in those counts also. I never pay much attention to those counters either.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Hello the biab members,

I don't know if I expressed myself correctly on my first post. It might be interesting to know in a column who actually listened to the compositions rather than knowing the number of views that represent nothing in my opinion.

On soundcloud, subscribers who have played on the compositions are recorded but the others who do not have an account are apparently not registered.

It would be nice to know the number of people who connect from Biab to listen to the compositions

Happy New Year and take good care of yourself

kindly regards

Thanks for the clarification and I believe that I did understand your original intentions OK. I'm not sure how this could be achieved, however, we are just end users, and the program developers would be able to determine if this were possible and how it could be delivered.

Thinking further about this, and certainly not intending to be argumentative, the statistics shown are probably not actually 'incorrect'. They represent factual information but just don't currently include the information you are seeking to have included.

I’m still unsure. Wouldn’t such a counter have to be on the SoundCloud or YouTube site, whose values could be passed back to PG Music?

I did not know that listeners who are not registered on SoundCloud do not increment the count, if that’s what you mean.

Also implied in your comment is a timer function so it doesn’t count unless you listened to all of the song, or perhaps a preset minimum time like 30 seconds.

Finally, are you asking to see the names of everyone who listened?

Like Videotrack, I’m just trying to understand what you are requesting, not shooting down the idea.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
