This song was born from an Instrumental I was developing. I was noodling around and playing a repetitive riff that reminded me of the Twilight Zone. I added a few more tracks and then sent them to Ray and Robert. While Robert was working on the lyrics Ray and I were sending tracks back and forth and the backtrack slowly developed. I must say Ray brought most of the color to the song with his bass track and his rhythm tracks. Robert brought a very cool lyric and an excellent vocal. He really had to climb up into his upper register for this song. Incardine The Band Drums RealDrums Rock Thrash EV16 RB Cello 3267 I used a piano midi file that was played back with a DrawOrgan vst Instrument then bounced to an audio file. RB Synth pad 1267 I used the BIAB DAW Plugin to set the song up. Song was mixed in Studio One 5 and Mastered in Studio One 5 Project. Love it!
This might be my favorite yet, and I've liked everything you guys have done.
Just a really good mood piece, lots of attentional to detail that makes it an interesting listen.
All three of you sound great!
Excellent job on the mix too, Scott, sounds fabulous through the 'phones, well done.

Hey team, A level up! A bit Pink Floydish and mellow Jethro Tullish, but mostly Spirit Level! Scott, excellent theme and sound! Robert... I think I can understand what a challenge this was to sing it so high, but came out beautiful! A+ lyrics and phrasing. Ray, excellent bass playing and arrangement! But I really think bass should be LOUDER, at least in some places it should come out with force. Liked it! Thank you for sharing.
Misha.

Spirit Level,
The sound and aura of this tune is so Spirit Level—really encapsulates your sound. Musically, the mix is without flaw, to my ears at least. Robert’s vocal is stellar . . . maybe the best I’ve heard him—just hits all the right notes. I’ll confess, I have no idea what the song is about—but for something like this, I’m not sure it matters. The mood it sets wins the day. Impressive listen!
My best to you all,
Deej

Hi, Scott, Ray and Robert !
What a superb co-op ! What a game with chords and sounds ! I did find this tune most interesting and so superbly produced, sung and played too !
I guess you could open up what carnadine is for a kind of creature ? the devil or the saint or both ?
Congrats to all three of you for this masterpiece !
Cheers Dani

What a wonderful combination of your talents!! The Spirit Level keeps on rising!! You guys really have a feel that is a wonderful fusion.......sometimes the whole is greater than the sum of its parts (which, in this case, are all very good to begin with)!!! Love it!! Take care. Greg

Thanks to all those listening and commenting. On the lyrics; I wrote "incarnadine" in my messy notebook liking the sound, and having only a vague idea of the meaning. Scott`s cool demo sent me looking for something with mood- probably a bit dark. Looking up the word led to the Shakespeare quote and memories of the shivers Lady Macbeth gave me reading the play in school. I beg the Bard`s forgiveness for adapting his amazing lines for the song. A true collaboration this- a few days in creation and weeks to finesse.
Robert

This is definitely one of your best. A bit dark and dreamy. A Pink Floyd -Moody Blues feel to it. Ray and Robert come through and Scott’s guitar style works well. I enjoyed my listen,Tom

A non frenetic Airplane meets the Bard.
The smooth, dreamy, contemplative vibe and fine vocal/instrumental performances well complement one another.
Scott's Twilight hints were cool throughout.
The back and forth Scott and Ray went through was certainly worth the time!
Nice collab y'all!

A nice dense production excellent bass and guitar, intriguing sound, ethereal and engaging.
A lovely progressive rock feel, and I really liked Robert's vocal in that range.

Hey Guys ...
What a super song! I agree with Floyds suggestion of San Francisco Folk. Maybe 1966 or '68 era. Everything sounds just right in the mix. It's haunting and ambient - - a great mix of sounds.
Everyone's part is so nicely done. But I give an extra tip of the hat to Robert's vocal - just so perfect for this song. What a treat for the ears!!!
Best to all of you.
Alan

Excellent job on the mix too, Scott, sounds fabulous through the 'phones, well done. Thanks so much Dave. I think Robert really nailed this song. So glad you liked it. Thanks, Scott, for the opportunity to participate once again. It was a fun song to play on...I hope that came through. I think song turned out well. You bass playing gave the song allot of depth and with Roberts vocal made it very special. Hey team, A level up! A bit Pink Floydish and mellow Jethro Tullish, but mostly Spirit Level! Misha. Thanks Misha I think Robert cringed I sent him the song. Ray and I had done quite a bit of the backtrack before he heard. This is totally backwards from his song writing process. But he came through with a very cool lyric and vocal. So glad you liked the song

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
