A small instrumental I just cooked up a couple of days ago or so ... felt I needed to write something more luminous, after Dona Nobis Pacem, haha. Hope you will enjoy it ... thanks for listening and all comments welcome! :-)

Probably as close as I'm going to get visiting those fields myself. wink

You've got a number of unexpected chord changes there, but they've very much your style.

I would have enjoyed a lead instrument in there, but it's fine as-is. smile

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Haha, David ... you're too modest NOT to end up there! :-) Thanks for the kind comments ... it's just a small instrumental to "cleanse the palate" after my other offering, haha ... so I'm glad you liked it :-)

James,

This is very much right in your sweet spot. As David said above, very much in your style, with some very cool chord changes. Like that bit of organ that pops in throughout. I’m not much for instrumentals, but this is a fine listen. Well done!

All my best,

Deej

James, this sounds great. Super chord progression. I for one would have liked to hear a lead line though out but that is just my opinion. This sounds great as is.

Thanks fj, Janice and Bud :-) I'm glad you enjoyed it. I (still) think that it's not anything in particular on its own, but that it works well in conjunction with the other track ... if I write an album, for instance, it can't be all dark :-) ... so thank you so much for listening and for commenting! :-)

Hi musician17,

Really nice chord progression! I enjoyed listening, but I have to echo some of the others in this thread: A soloist or a lead line could have made the track even better.

Well done!

Hi James,

A pleasant melody to listen to. I liked it.
But I also recognized the (favorite) style you use in most of your songs.
That's nice to! You have an own style!

Stay safe,
Hans

James, you have a your own very recognizable style. I wouldn't be surprised to find it in the Style Picker someday. Listening to this I can almost hear your vocal. I really enjoy listening to your songs. Captivating, sometimes almost mesmerizing.

Enjoy whatever happens!

James,
An enjoyable listen- I like those signature changes you use ( perhaps easier to hear without a soloist).

Thank you all! I am actually trying to break away from my "style", but it's nice to come back to it when I can't, haha. Marty, you're way too kind re: Style Picker, but who knows! haha. And yes, Robert, you've hit the nail on the head - these chord progressions are so much easier to hear, at times, without a solo line ... one of the reasons I, for now at least, have left it "as is".

THANK YOU so much, each and every one of you, for listening and commenting!

HI James ...

I always enjoy your musical contributions to the forum. Your music is almost always gentle - sometimes delicately fragile. This one belongs in the delicately fragile ascription. There are times when a musical bed is just as nice as a cut with lead tracks. The background tracks carried this quite nicely in my ears.

I am a composer who relies on chordal structure for many of my songs. You always treat us with some unexpected but very nice chord progressions. No exception here.

That was a soothing listen. Thank you. Wishing you the very best.

Alan

Alan - you are one of the most perceptive and sensitive musicians on here, without a doubt - so when you write so beautifully about one of my tracks, I am genuinely humbled and grateful. You also somehow get my intentions so well, when I write something ... so thank you so much for taking the time to listen and for such incredibly kind and sensitive comments.

Wishing you nothing but great things,

JD

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
