Good news Josie. You may have no side effects from the vaccine but it is very common to have pain at the injection site the next day for a few days. Six or seven weeks from now you should have very good protection from Covid.
I get my second shot Friday and my wife will get her second shot next week. The virus is pretty rampant here in Miami. We feel pretty lucky to get the vaccine.
Best of luck,
Billy

Seize the moo-ment If you feel like you’ve herd all these cow puns before, you probably have deja-moo
We’ve both had Moderna jab #1. Only a sore arm and a mild headache for us and we did hard bike rides the next day so all was good. We’ve friends who’ve had several rough days after jab #2 but they are fine.
I got my first jab last month. The only side effect was a bit of discomfort in the vaccine location. Not enough to call pain, just enough to be noticed if I moved my arm above the horizontal. Leilani had similar follow-up symptoms.
Leilani and I got our second Moderna on Saturday. She had a little more soreness but not a problem. I had a mild case of the heebie-jeebies on Sunday, took a nap, and they were soon gone.
Definitely worth the price.
The way I see the worst case scenarios is:
If you get the vaccine you might have a day of feeling sick.
If you don't get the vaccine you might die in an isolation ward not able to say good-bye to your loved ones (this almost happened to my sister-in-law but she pulled through at the last minute)
I'm glad you got your shot and I hope your second dose next month will be as mild as my wife's were.
I got my second shot yesterday. Last night I was freezing all night long. This morning my arm is sore and I feel like a truck ran over me. My doc said this might happen, but usually only for one day, except that is for the sore arm as it may take a couple of days.
My wife got her second shot and she only has a sore arm. Go figure as when Covid ran through out house I was the only one that didn't get it! Must be payback time!
Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up. Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

I had the Pfizer 1st shot this week and the second is scheduled for early March. I had very very mild arm soreness for a couple of hours - nothing else so far.
Just a reminder, this may not prevent you from getting Covid-19 but definitely will prevent your from getting seriously ill from Covid-19. It is a slight but important distinction. But it also does mean you may still be able to pass it on if you do happen to get exposed and infected. Still lots of research to go into all that but it is important to protect those around you who are not yet vaccinated.
My wife asked if I had seen the dog bowl. I told her I didn't even know he could.

That's how I felt the morning after the first dose (no chills or other symptoms though). Nothing at all on the day of the shot, but the next morning.. wow.
I used the phrase 'feel like I got hit by a bus, or maybe how Mathew Stafford feels on Monday mornings'. <grin>
Weird part is that it lasted about 5 hours and then I was fine again for the most part. Here's hoping it set me up better for the second dose.

Make your sound your own! .. I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome
here in the UK i got the oxford/astra-zeneca yesterday. feeling a little tired yesterday and today but nothing else. my wife got the pfizer jab a couple of weeks ago so we're a living test of the two vaccines against each other.
Me again. The following day I was spacey and really achy. Arm was sore and swollen and face all flushed. Today I took it easy and felt better as the day went on and feeling back to myself now. Sheesh I hope the second dose ain't much worse.
Unfortunately, every 2 dose vaccine has more side effects with the second dose but the good news is that it just means that the first dose is working.
Actually the second dose potentially has more side effects. As I previously stated I had one night and one day of side effects while my wife only had a sore arm and no other side effects.

Great to hear everyone's experiences.
Remember this:
The worst case if vaccinated: Feeling sick for a day
The worst case if NOT: Dying a miserable death in an isolation ward without being able to say good-bye to your loved ones
I hope your second dose symptoms are no worse than the first one.
And you will feel better two weeks later when you are fully immunized by the vaccine.
No appointments or mass immunizations available here in my county in Illinois USA. At this time < 2% of the population has been immunized. We are just left to try to figure out what is going on!!!
Just got my second shot yesterday. I assumed listening to what has been said here and comments by the doctor who treats me, the second shot would produce worse side effects.
I am experiencing the same as the first shot. Slight sore arm and slight headache, both relieved by Advil. I expect this to go away by tomorrow.
I did some looking around and found this quote.
"In other words, it's possible to receive a (perfectly administered) vaccine and suffer no symptoms whatsoever. Just "consider yourself lucky," says Harvard Medical School physician Abraar Karan."
There seems to be a wide range of side effects without any obvious reason. Whatever the temporary discomfort is, it has to be better than getting really sick from Covid-19.
My wife did experience a greater amount of pain and redness with swelling "near" the injection site on the first shot. That was relieved with Advil and went away in three days. She gets the second shot next week.
I did serious research into mRNA vaccines before taking the vaccine. I am convinced they are both safe and effective. I encourage everyone to be vaccinated as soon as they can barring anyone who has medical reasons not too.
Cheers,
Billy

Harv, how did you get in that quickly at your relatively young age? I am approaching 70 candles here and I am just now scheduled. Monday the 15th and March 4th.
I am using the new 1040XTRAEZ form this year. It has just 2 lines.
1. How much did you make in 2023? 2. Send it to us.
Actually the second dose potentially has more side effects.
To clarify what I was saying: If you have side effects with the first dose, you are more likely to have a slightly more intense response on the second dose since your immune response has been tweaked to mobilize against the antigen that caused the first response. And, if you had no side effects at all on the initial dose, you are still more likely to be have side effects on subsequent vaccinations due to your body mounting an attack on an antigen that it has seen before. The likelihood of side effects always goes up with the boosters in a multi dose series.
Fully vaccinated as of a week ago. Second shot is more intense I sweated in my sleep like somebody poured water on me for a couple of nights, but overall it really wasn't that bad and it's so worth it. My husband and I took it easy for a few days and we're back to ourselves now. Would be nice if it protects from the variant but if not, we'll be in line for booster. Meanwhile, we are still wearing our masks, social distancing and washing hands. Too soon to let guard down.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows® Today!
Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows for free with build 1111!
With this update, there's more control when saving images from the Print Preview window, we've added defaults to the MultiPicker for sorting and font size, updated printing options, updated RealTracks and other content, and addressed user-reported issues with the StylePicker, MIDI Soloists, key signature changes, and more!
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
