Being from Chicago -- the title immediately caught my attention -- the music reminder me of the grea piano bars that used to be in the city. You did a really nice job on this. I am not a Jazz fan but I listened to this song 2x's. Nice job.

I guess I was thinking more like October than February (but thanks for the weather report) wink

Glad to hear you found the title was appropriate. At one point it was going to be Cool Night in Clacton-On-Sea.

Your electric guitar performance takes the lead in this instrumental composition like William Holden took Kim Novak's hand as they danced to the tune of 'Moonglow' in the melodramatic 1955 film, Picnic. Your playing style is spare, yet sweet, which leaves plenty of room for the Real Track accompaniments to shine. Also, it was nice to hear the gradual reduction in tempo at the outro as it added a touch of musical drama to the ending. All in all, it's tuneful, mellow listening experience that warms the heart even as it cools the night in Chicago... smile

Nice!

Good mix, good arrangement. Laid back and mellow playing.

I liked the melody, and your guitar playing! Tasteful use of bends. laugh

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Thanks for the positive comments, Bluage. Been strumming and playing fingerstyle on acoustics for years but only went 'electric' in May last year. Lead guitar is still very new to me and quite a challenge!

together for a while smile Really nice band sound indeed.

Well arranged and mixed also.

Thanks, E.S. "Sounding like part of the band" is something I aspire to (but don't always manage to pull it off!).

Nicely restrained guitar playing. The sax is perfect. Nicely arranged with an easy to follow recurring melody. I liked it, Tom

Thanks, Tommyad. Your comment, "...easy to follow recurring melody" reminds me why I've never been a big fan of jazz, especially what was called "modern jazz" back in the 50s and 60s. While it was cleverly executed, it had a meandering (and often annoying) "where the hell it this going?" feel to it. Complicated rhythms don't float my boat either. If I can't whistle the tune or tap my foot to it I find it difficult to relate to.

Tasty guitar chops! Sweeeet tone on the axe of yours! Very nice arrangement and using that sax RT was an excellent move.

I really enjoyed this!

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
