This is a new song honoring the Capitol police, and their heroic stand on January 6. It features new instruments from BB 2021, particularly the Dublin guitars.

Strong opening. Vocals are a bit further back in the mix than I'd like.

Interesting break - not what I expected.

Catchy chorus, nice build at the end. Subtle harmonies.

I'm curious what the line does the twilight still gleam? means. Are you asking if there's still light before the night falls? (I'm probably overthinking the lyric).

I enjoyed it! laugh

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Good song.....

to my ear, the vox are too low in the mix and that bass is really prominent. I'd back it off a bit.

The song sounds too happy to me for the topic matter but maybe that's just my lonely opinion.

It certainly has a nice uptempo beat to it.

I agree with your judgement. Here is a new mix.

A high energy listen on a worth while subject!

Well done.

I'm taking on a personal mission to ask those who post to be a full participant in the forum.

Will,
Sad subject, but good music. I like the drive on most of your tunes.
I listened to remixed version. Sounds good.
Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for your kind words and worthy mission.

For those who may not have made the connection, the new Dublin samples channel the sound of U2. I was eager to add the Edge to my band.

Very strong write. Musically captivating and rich.

It's good to hear from someone outside the U.S. commenting on events here because I think they are too many here who forget what America has represented to the rest of the world. Great line "Is this America, that's not what I see." My thoughts exactly. I won't get into the subversion of our constitution and democratic principles for the sake to demagoguery and cultist fanaticism. Your songs says enough.

I've done another remix, putting harmonies in tune, adding mission bells at the end, a whole list of things. Comments appreciated.

Strong write, Will, built around a question that also resonates, I'm sure, with many of us looking on from a distance. Definitely getting a little bit of a U2 vibe in there. Well done.
Regards,
Leon

Excellent song, Will. Well written. Yes, the 2nd mix with the vox more out front is better. I really like the band. Songs like this reminds us that the twilight still gleams.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Hi Will,

This composition is interesting because it makes us think about democracy. The sounds of the song are happy in the manner of Bruce SpringSteen in Born in USA. A wink to remember.

I am making a push to place this song on college radio, and have revised the mix, it sounded shrill to me. I'd appreciate some feedback on this current mix.

We're late to the party so I'm not sure what version we heard....but irrespective of that we liked it.

A rousing rocker that lyrically asks a question that is on a lot of folks' mind.

Well done!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
