Is it audio or MIDI?
If audio tracks are involved I'd suggest using Realband instead.

Transfer the WAV files from the hardware to the computer. Then Import the tracks to RB.
Then use Pitch shift/ Time change feature to adjust as needed.

You have RB if you purchased BiaB in the last several years, and sometimes it just does things better.

.. I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

Transferring files are slightly different between Tascam's DP-24 Standalone recorder and the Tascam Model 24 Mixer/recorder. You didn't specify which you have but my best guess is you have the DP-24.

Regardless, the process is easy for either unit. They connect to your computer using a USB cable and the unit is recognized as a storage device and use the normal computer commands to transfer the files after you've entered the standalone recorder menu and selected the USB as a storage device. Alternately, removed the SD card from the standalone recorder and insert it into the computer.

hitsman,

Welcome back to the forum. It's good to read that you're feeling better and are on the road to recovery.

Do you create a folder to store all the files associated with your Band-in-a-Box song? If not you may want to consider creating song specific folders. Song specific folders offer convenience and ease the housekeeping task of keeping your files straight.

Make sure your TASCAM audio file begins with two empty bars so audio is not playing during the count-in.

Before you transfer your audio file it is best to make sure the TASCAM is set to render the audio file at the Band-in-a-Box audio defaults of 16 bit depth and 44.1kHz sample rate.

Once you have the TASCAM USB port connected to your computer, copy your audio file to the song folder.

Now, label the copied audio file to match the song file name; for example greatsong.SGU and greatsong.WAV.

When you open the song file, Band-in-a-Box will automatically load and playback the audio file and song file.

Neat trick, huh?

Once you have the songs on your computer in the form of .wav files, as in, greatsong.wav you can open them in the ACW, Audio Chord Wizard. It takes some getting used to but it will create a Band In A Box chord sheet from the song which you can then choose a style, change the key, edit, and more much more. It won't be the exact same song but a recreation since you will choose a style as if you were creating your own song out of it.
If you just want to change the key/pitch of the songs you can use a free DAW program called
Audacity. It has a feature that allows you to change the key without changing the speed, with changing the speed or just change the speed without changing the key or pitch.
I do the same with a DAW called Reaper but there's a little more of a learning curve to using Reaper.

You can do what has been suggested.....

or....

You can do what I would likely do which is, start over in BB. Seriously, it's not going to take you very long to lay out the chords to a song.... slap on a style and record the vocals.... I think this route would be faster, especially if you're not familiar with the details and have to edit the tracks to add blank measures up front.... just saying.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
