Well, I finally got a chance to use my BIAB 2021 and take her for a spin. I just don't feel like writing any heavy songs these days because...well, I just don't feel like it. All I want to do is write pop. Because that us who I am daggone it.

We Were Made For Love
By David Snyder

V1

We were made to be happy
We were made to be free
I was made for you
And you were made for me
We were made to be patient
We were made to be kind
I was made to be yours
And you were made to be mine

CH

We were made for Love
We were made for love
We were made for love, we were made for love
We were made for love
We were made for love

V2

We were made to be giving
We were made to be true
You were made for me
And I was made for you
We were made to be laughing all day
And we were made to get loud
We were made to be thankful
And we were made to be proud

CH

We were made for Love
We were made for love
We were made for love, we were made for love
We were made for love

Bridge:

And I don’t need to hear
About another single thing gone wrong
Can’t you hear the people screaming
We need to hear a different song

V3

Cause we were made to be happy
We were made to be free
Cause I was made for you
And you were made for me

CH

We were made for Love
We were made for love
We were made for love, we were made for love
We were made for love
We were made for love

Right on target, David. I'm fascinated by the backing vocals and the fact you say a lot even when you're not trying to smile

David,

Nothing wrong with light, poppy, and uplifting, particularly in these crazy times. And this hits all the right notes. Nice construction on the song and great use of those Gospel backing vocals. The vocal is really strong . . . from a production standpoint I’m wondering if there’s maybe just a tad too much reverb on it. Dunno—see what others think; just wondering if that vocal would turn just a bit warmer dialing it down a bit. Just a thought—keep or sweep, as they say.

Good stuff—and great to see you on the board.

All my best,

Deej

Good message, excellent delivery.

Doesn't get much better than this.

I mean, I've got opinions about the mix, and vocals, and this weird oscillation that's going on with the volume. It's like listening to a song on a windy day.

But the song? Perfect. laugh

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Hi David.
Good pop rock song. Plenty of repetition in the right areas.

For me the mix has a harshness to it.
Maybe needs a bit less kick drum and warming up a little with eq or maybe that's just my preference.

Some people wanna fill the world
With silly love songs
And what's wrong with that?
I'd like to know

Someone said that. Can't remember who....probably some little-known writer of love songs...

Nice Pop-Anthem-style Love Song.

Always good to see you back, Mr. Snyder.

It's no secret that you were "made for love".

Keep it up, buddy.

With the drums so prominent the bass seemed a little light.
The cymbal fills are REALLY loud - so much so that the 1st was a shock in headphones.
The reverb is a pretty heaped spoon full.
Very UP production and ascending melody accentuates that as does the lightness of touch in the guitars, piano & cello.

Cheers

Hi David,

You always have a surprising angle in a lot of your songs.
In this one it's not only those lyrics/ or the message, but your mixing as well.
I read what Ray e.o. wrote and I can agree with him, but I am convinced you did this on purpose to give this song an ironicall twist.
If not, than this is how it came to me.
But whatever: I enjoyed listening to your song,

Hans

I went through a transformation while listening. At first I was thinking "yeah, yeah, we were made for love, I get it already" but as I listened it became hypnotic and I realized I didn't get it until the end when I was completely hypnotized by the message.

Thank you for a transformative experience. I've feel I've learned something important.

Nice to hear from you, David. A most enjoyable pop song. Gospel background vocals work really well, and of course a fine lead vocal from you.

Leon

I like the clear and present sound on this.

Well done.

Some vocal tuning might take it to the next level.

Another classic Snyder track! Very memorable title and a simple message gives good singalong possibility. An interesting mix with strong reverbs, especially on the gospel vocals, but somehow I like it - adds a strong live feeling. A great selection of instruments, especially the cello and those gospel singers. I agree about heavy songs, because all you need is pop (the title of one of my songs) smile

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
