Hard drive technology is constantly changing. +++ HERE +++ is an interesting article and video about improvements hard drive manufacturers Seagate, Western Digital and Toshiba are just starting to introduce. The end goal is to reach 60 - 100 TB of storage per drive.

Sounds cool Jim, thanks for the share. Like with any new tech it will be expensive at first so I would probably have to wait a few years after rollout.

No doubt those figures will be achieved - eventually. Storage demand is rising exponentially.

Every time I read about the increase in hard drive storage I think "somewhere someone is going to lose a ton of information because they didn't have a backup".
Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Great article! I could sure use 100tb of extra storage - between music production, video editing, photography, and sound design for video games, I'm always in need of more space! The cloud doesn't quite cut it for me...

I have the hard drive I removed from my original work laptop stashed in a desk drawer. It is a 20 megabyte 2.5" hard drive. If I remember correctly it has MS-DOS 3.3, WordPerfect, ccMail and program for the internal 1200 baud fax / modem.
The computer was a Toshiba 1200 with a monochrome LCD display. Excellent machine.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first?
