I set things up as you have (thanks for the pictures, they really help) and I, too, could not get reverb happening. I used the QWERTY keys as my Thru input.
Unfortunately, I do not know enough about the Thru channel to help. I'm pretty sure that some more knowledgeable persons will jump in sooner or later, though.
Hi all, it's not possible to put audio plugins on the Thru track. I'm not sure why they decided this, but I would assume it's to do with adding latency to live playback, as every plugin will add a delay.
that's just how midi works. the clue is in the name - 'through'. google 'midi out and midi through' for full details. your midi signal is going into BIAB and THROUGH unchanged. whatever you try to do won't work because the signal is going 'through'.
from the screenshot you seem to be sending midi through to the coyote. BIAB won't be adding anything like plugins to the signal.
as coyote is your default synth i'm not sure how to do it without making a mess of your other tracks. (each of them does have BIAB reverb signals it's sending to coyote so playing with coyote's settings will probably affect the overall sound) but if you can divert to another soft synth or a separate instance of coyote, you can set reverb in the synth itself. you'll never do it in BIAB on the through channel.
Bob that's a good point - if you're using a MIDI plugin that has it's own Reverb (like Coyote or Sforzando), you can use the Reverb slider in the mixer to add some reverb that way.
Normally MIDI THRU repeats whatever data is seen at the MIDI IN port without adding any additional MIDI data.
In this instance the THRU port belongs to Band-in-a-Box. MIDI IN receives MIDI data from another device such as an external MIDI controller. MIDI OUT repeats all data received at the Band-in-a-Box MIDI IN port plus adds whatever MIDI data is added by Band-in-a-Box.
In most instances a MIDI THRU port repeats all MIDI data received on a MIDI IN port. However, the Band-in-a-Box THRU port passes only one MIDI channel, by default, MIDI channel 04.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
