A couple of days ago I had a hard day dealing with phone and insurance companies so I punched in a few chords and laid down the guitar track. Yesterday I laid down the bass track. Today I mixed it so here it is, a simple jazz blues jam.

BiaB style = Humbling Slow MIDI Jazz Ballad
Tempo = 60 BPM
I deleted the bass track
Drums = Garritan Jazz and Big Band brush kit
Piano - I replaced the track with a new regenerated track using MIDI
3087 Organ, rhythm, Americana, slow

I am playing the lead guitar = Harley Benton straight into the mixing board, FX = Raum reverb

And my SX fretless bass, FX = compression, EQ, and Amplitube 5 preset SVX-CL

Both tracks are first takes so there are a couple of warts but this was just a fun jam for me.

Let me know what you think.

Nice, contemplative soloing on guitar, I enjoyed it! Reminded me a little of Harlem Nocturne. Great work!

Hi Mario,

As you know - I am addicted to the Blues.

Playing and Mix - all good.

Feel - excellent.

Song - I would like to hear you work this up with a little more light and shade - maybe a stop section, a change of key, a middle 8, drop some instruments in various parts of the song or add some.

Best Regards
Nigel

Mario the Master of Mood strikes again.
Love how you have used the organ to lay the bed for your beautifully chosen guitar notes. You allow the piece to breath and flow at it's own pace but occasionally lean on the beat just enough to let it know who is in charge . This ended too quickly for me , a sure sign of listening pleasure.
best regards Mario
Gary.

Excellent tune Mario. No better way to take the edge of the day with a little noodling with the guitar. Very nice listen. Loved the runs. Well done

Hi Mario.

Sometimes in life, only the blues will do. And you do this with style! I really enjoyed just sitting back in my chair and listening with my eyes closed.

Very soulful playing. A beautiful melody.

All the best,
Noel

Ah, that had to calm you down, Mario. Sure seems like a fine late-night track with all the musicians just sitting comfortably on couches. That's the kind of stuff they should pump into all the insurance employees' headphones --sure would make it a much more enjoyable experience. Love that laid-back feel.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Smooth, jazzy type playing over a slow blues, what's not to like?

Very nice, Mario smile

Missed this the first time around.

The guitars sound excellent, and the organ really works here. The drummer kept getting my attention... I guess that's what happens when you create a mix that sounds like real players on real instruments. wink

Slow blues, fast blues... they're all good. Bring 'em on! laugh

Beautiful, very soft guitar solo that blends in wonderfully with your musical accompaniment. It's restful and it's very pleasant to listen to in the calm of a relaxing evening. Well done.

Hi Mario,

After a hard and difficult day you can't beat playing the blues to bring you round.

This is just SO relaxed and nicely done - I always like your jazz-blues stuff.

Beautiful.

Howdy Mario....

I like this.
Smooooth sounding composition with some good axe phrasing.
Easy to feel like one is sitting at the bar in a smoke filled jazz club....with a Heineken and a shot of tequila as my company. smile

Well done....

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
