Great vocals, lovely sounding high notes.
The band sounds warm and the piano has that homely 80's vibe. The pedal steel works very well.

Hi Janne,
Many thanks for the review and the Alan Parsons reference.
Pleased it made your favourites list.

No guitar, well ok, just this once.
Us Brits do hear country differently- I like your take very much!

Robert

Hi Robert,
Yes, certainly a change of pace from my recent songs and thanks for the positive comments.
I'm sure I'll be picking up the guitar again next time!
As a Brit I don't find that writing Country is easy, so I'm pleased you liked it.
Many thanks,
ROG.

Hi Trev,
Very nice comments and much appreciated.
I particularly liked "Lyrically intriguing".
Many thanks for looking in.

Probably the most famous pop song featuring the pedal steel is "Teach Your Children" by CSN with Jerry Garcia brandishing the Pedal Steel. Then there's Three Dog Night covering an actual country write by Hoyt Axton but turning it into a top 10 (5) pop hit, "Never Been To Spain" with Rusty Young (Poco) doing the Pedal Steel honors. Even Paul McCartney got into the Pedal Steel when he recorded tracks for the "Juniors Farm" Album in 1974. The best known tune with PSG reached number 17 in the US with "Sally G".

There's much to like with your song and this is surely a favorite of mine. Enjoyed my listen.

Hi Charlie,
Thanks for such a detailed review!
I was fascinated by all the tracks you mentioned - thanks for taking the time to do that.
Pleased it made your favourite list.

Great tune with a good hook! Not too country, more soft pop. But very, very good. Maybe the best I've heard from you. Excellent work!

ROG ...

I left a comment on this song last might ... but it somehow just disappeared. Will get back to you with a proper comment in the next day or so ... my time here is extremely limited right now. Great song ...

We are suckers for light airy mixes and this is an excellent one.

And the BiaB vocals were a nice delicate touch as was the judicious use of the steel.

Enjoyed it!

Hi there J&B,
Thanks for the listen and I'm more than pleased with the Brian Wilson reference.
This might be the only "pretty" song I've written!
I always value your comments - much appreciated.

I'm back.

This is instantly one of my very favorites of yours. As far as genre, it reminds of some of the crossover groups of the 70s. Although this is not not an "Eagles-type" song, they never hesitated to add a pedal steel when needed. Rumor has they had a pretty good run! As I listen "Pure Prairie League came to mind, as far as style. But i think this is a bit more sophisticated than their music. But the eras have something to do with that, too.

Your vocal is great and sits perfectly in the mix - slightly back in the mix but yet clearly present.

So many good things to say about this one. But, since my time on these forums is very limited for a little while, so, please know I think you composed and delivered an ace of a song that was very enjoyable to listen to. Best to you ...

Alan

Hi Alan,
First of all, I'm pleased that this has become one of your favourites of mine.
"Pure Prairie League" took me back a few years - I'm going to have to look them up again.
Pleased you liked the vocal because I'm always lacking in confidence about singing.
So, many thanks for all the kind comments - much appreciated.
Take care old friend and give my best to Di as well.
Cheers,
ROG.

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
