BRING PEACE TONIGHT

Good morning, Lord ...
how are You?
Me? I feel
Broken in two.

Around me, now
My brothers fight
For the best part of
A long, long night ...

And I would like to live
And help them, maybe
But I'm just a child,
I'm just a child ...

And I would like to love
And help them, you see,
But I'm just a child,
I'm just a child ...

***

Good day, my Lord ...
and how are You?
The time has passed
So quickly, true ...

My Mum's in shock
And so's my Dad ...
Today we've lost
All that we ever had ...

And I would like to live
And help them, maybe
But I'm just a child,
I'm just a child ...

And I would like to love
And help them, you see,
But I'm just a child,
I'm just a child ...

***

Good evening, Lord
are You still there?
Please save me from
Such deep despair ...

... show me You care ...
... show me You care ...

For I would like to live
And help You, maybe
But I'm just a child,
I'm just a child ...

And I would like to love
And help You, You see,
But I'm just a child,
I'm just a child ...

Bring peace tonight.

James,

A good write. Excellent message.

The vocal sounds good. I like that you've "picked up the pace" some with the lyric. (you could go a bit farther in the direction, I think).

The piano track is a good choice for this (and the change to it works well).

This is one of your best, I think.

While listening, I had the idea that you could increase the bpm a bit (by 10, maybe?) and add conteporary-Pop-Rap style percussion (a bass-y kick and a clap or snaps - simple stuff) and give this a kick-butt contemporary sound...
(Just an idea, of course)

Well done.

Hi Musician17,

It's a beautiful message that you share with us. We must remain optimistic in this world where violence is no longer tolerable. I like your voice, your soothing lyrics. And the arrangement is peaceful and well done. I appreciated.

Hi, James.

I agree with floyd jane - the song is simple, but makes the point well.

Good work! smile

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Thank you so much, everyone.

fj: thank you, great to hear such positive comments! I deliberately kept the arrangement to a minimum, but the drums are nevertheless a thought!

Derochette and David: thank you so much - so glad you liked it - this one was not easy to do, so I'm glad the intention came through.

James,
Your lyrics are well balanced between the message and the personal. I like the build the
morning to evening progression of the story adds.
Interesting thoughts from Floyd on the tempo- (it does feel like it changes at about 1:00 and then slows at the close)- perhaps a little more clarity of the change would work, but the simple arrangement is just right.

Thanks everyone.

Ed: I haven't forgotten about your message - I will look for the style asap, I promise!!! THANK YOU for such kind words.

Robert: thank you. There is no tempo change as such - it's just double the amount of notes from the "Good day" to the "Good evening" section, then back again. THANK YOU for every single kind word of comment - truly appreciated.

Sometimes it just all comes together...the synchronicity of it all if you will.

This is such with the vocal, the lyric and the backing tracks.

It sounds as though they have been around a long time waiting to find one another.

Nice!

Janice & Bud: thank you so much. Your comments are, for me, absolutely spot-on ... yes, it's taken a long time for them to find one another indeed - what an incredibly perceptive comment!!! Thank you. Let's hope they never part again :-)

Ember: wow. Thanks :-) A very kind comment.
