Glenn,
Did you buy the piano?
Bob
P.S. I asked that religion be excluded. But that can be hard when you include the other topics, (guitars or other instruments, guns, politics and equality). I tried to start it out in a light hearted manner by using "hillbilly" slang.

Bob:
No, I didn't have either the $18,000 or the place to put it. Other than those minor things, I would have.
But I'm hoping he gets another one in and has it regulated, voiced, and tuned before it goes out.

John,
Because you don't like a thread I start, you post something like this!!!
That's despicable. You should be ashamed of yourself John.
I've seen "flaming" on here before, but this goes beyond anything I've ever seen anywhere on the web.

Dwight Yoakum. I can go with that. He actually grew up near where I did and had a lot of the same musical influences.
Unfortunately for me, he got rich and famous, and I didn't. LOL.

John,
That's really big of you to delete the post after making such a horrendous insinuation.

Guitars 'Signature' Les Paul. This is actually made by a branch of the Tokai company and has to be the steal of the century. I picked this up for a quarter of what its probably worth in terms of tone, action, looks an' everything. 'Spirit' Jazz archtop by Oscar Schmidt customized with new tailpiece, bridge and Seymour Duncan pups. Guns I find this one to be really excellent for all manner of jobs Favourite Gun Politics Non-alligned but left leaning and collectivist Equality generally speaking : egalitarian but knowing the odds against it Regards Alan

I want to publicly apologize to Bob for that post. It was not meant to insinuate that he was like that at all.

Likewise, I want to apologize to anyone who may have been offended by comments made in my thread.
But I was happy to see spontaneous remarks from various people who noted that the discussion was being handled with tolerance for a wide variety of opinions. That was my intent.
I also want to point out that the references to the bible were never for the purpose of beating anybody over the head or for proselytizing.... They were (in every case as far as I could determine) used to shore up the principles behind the opinion. If it is OK to quote Thoreau or Kant to make a point, it should also be OK to quote Moses or Jesus or Paul. After all, for the past 2,000 years, it has been one of the most influential books in western civilization. To ignore its significance... or worse, to prohibit it in any way... is a step in the direction of willful ignorance of history.
Having said all that, I want to thank you for deleting the post and for apologizing to Bob. I thought the post was not only contrary to forum rules, it was IMHO the single most offensive thing I have ever seen on any forum ever. It wasn't only offensive to Bob, it painted all Christians with a negative stereotype that the overwhelming vast majority do not deserve.

Just a little confession here, if confession is the right word. I really enjoy the aesthetics of beautifully designed and lovingly made objects of all kinds whether it's furniture, leather bound books, pottery, expensive tools, classic cars, whatever. It's one of life's big pleasures that we all understand and share - owning, holding and using beautiful things. Top of my list though is guitars: I love holding them and playing them for that aesthetic reason as well as for the lovely varied noises they can make! The feel of the body curves of a Stratocaster, the intricate metal components, the sensuous silkiness of an un-varnished maple neck, the feel of the strings, etc., and not forgetting the intoxicating SMELLS of a new guitar, electric or acoustic! Ever looked around to check no one's looking and then sniffed deep of the soundhole of a new acoustic? (I hope it's not just me....) Without wishing to raise anyone's hackles or concerns over my mental state, I get similar pleasures from holding, cleaning and shooting my two rifles, both Uberti lever actions. They are similarly well-made articles that someone has skillfully crafted from raw materials and assembled: small rhapsodies in brass, wood and blued steel. And again, there are the smells... John

Ukelele...tenor guitars...Gibson guitars...knock-off jazz guitars...Ibanez solid body guitar and RD bass guitar...Squire Bass...lots of synths and modules.
BBD (Before being drafted, started with banjo in Dixie Band, afterwards, seriously "bitten" by the local straight-ahead jazz scene.
Playing jazz guitar and bass got me a TDY assignment into the 7th Army Marching/Jazz Band in Germany which lasted until I returned home in '58 after two years of marching/swinging service! My actual MOS was Corporal Guided Missile Warhead Section with the 557th GM Batallion. From driving a jeep for a Virginia Military 1st Lt. grad, in the Warhead Section, to "driving" our Military Parading on a Bass Drum.
My fav guitar is my old Roland GR-303 Midi/Jazz Solid body, altho I do love my 175 and 335 Gibson "knockoffs". And I've always used my voice as a "jazz instrument", like Torme. It's all been such great fun!! Hope my pacemaker keeps ticking along for another 9 years. 85 would be a fun age to "retire" permanently. Until then, I'll continue to paddle my 17 foot canoe and play with my Cairne and Jack Russel terriers!!
Peace with you all...and, have some "tea", won't you!?`

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
