I've been gone from BIAB for a few years but got an idea for a version of White Rabbit as a Flamenco/ Dick Dale style backing track. Is there either a new or older guitar style that could do Flamenco.
I need to get back into BIAB, been too long gone

That's a good question. I did a search in the style finder and came up with the following. Pretty sparse on this genre/style with no specific RTs. How did this get missed all these years? crazy However, there is a midi guitar in these selections which does a good job simulating the Flamenco strum.

heres a trick to try re rabbit.
dont load up a complex style until you have arrange right.
a simple style i find makes it easier to hear if correct chords entered. and to sing along with.
then step 2 once playback in bb sounds correct THEN add further RT's and/or run further style tests useing stylemaker with more complex styles.
eg load up =POPPLTS.STY from style picker.
a simple rehearsal piano. with simple drum backing.
set tempo to 107.
(the original rabbit seems to have a fractional tempo
106.xxx probably due to tape speed variations etc in those days of yore mebe.)
it took me only a few minutes with the =POPPLTS.STY .
its basically a semitone modulation at start. then to the A
if i remember etc. ie F# start.

the challenge is to get the syncopation in bb right for rabbit.

oldmuso (who likes furry rabbits but never eats them.
funnily enough we have a baby one in our garden on occasion.)
totally cute.

PS i just flushed out whole rabbit in bb.
bout 69 bars at 108 tempo. yes i upped tempo cos i liked it better.
roughed out all chords useing pop style i mentioned in previous post.=POPPLTS.STY

gonna experiment with more styles in stylepicker.
i'll post if i find styles i like.
but rough chord arrrange done. includeing drum lead in
through to song end.

Dan/Wyndham.
ok ive found a few styles / RT's etc worth testing out maybe.
many jazz and latin styles seem to fit. ? i found.
twould seem that understated drums might work best down low.
eg terry clark bossa drums etc. ?

some moody styles i liked after finishing chord entry are
=MOD2_BE ; =DIRE_SL ; _B140_TB <minus trombone.
at tempo 108 or 107.

RT's worth trying so far i found.
636 elec gtr; bass > 711/164/921 ; 470 noodling piano ;
also 518 bass.
1856 cello< actually in places might work.
loop pop n soul rnb
1013 nylon gtr ; NOTE ALSO SOME BOLERO GTRS MIGHT WORK
I FOUND WITH SOME EDITING.
1215 vibes down low /one side of stereo image.
1103 nylon gtr ;2791 muted trumpet down low in places might work.

just some ideas i found noodling with the arrangement.
i think syncopation in the song is very important.
hence some of my suggested RT's to try.

wyndham hope you get a grrreat end result.
apologies if some of my suggestions dont work for you.
the ideas above are just a foundation to try and build on.
it was lots of fun running tests .

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
