A very interesting piece of music. It sounds like you were experimenting with textures and you did a great job of it! Super chops as always.

Going out of your comfort zone can be scary but also very rewarding.

Good job one this.

PS - I thought that the ending was a little abrupt. A minor complaint for sure but something that you might want to look into. YMMV

Very interesting. The first and third sections, where the fiddle was dominant, reminded me of some of the up-tempo work of violinist Vanessa Mae (popular in the 90s). Have not tried scaler myself. Hope to look into it when I get time.

My music may not set the world on fire but if it causes a glow in just one person's heart, it has all been worthwhile smile

Good experimentation, Eric.

The backing track is big and cinematic - but I thought it could use a bit more change-up once in a while.
And would have liked to hear you guitar slightly louder in the mix.

Keep it up!

Yes, yes, Eric, turn up your guitar. It's my favorite part and it seems lost in the competing mix. Really cool experiment and I like the results. It feels like I'm standing under the bells of the cymbals and they are overwhelming the mix. There's alot of cool, creative stuff happening in there.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Hi F.M.M.,

Very pleasant ambiance. Beautiful suite of chords that plunges us into an Irish or Scottish atmosphere. The melodic instruments between the violin and the guitar are well chosen.

For me, it's a bit repetitive (even if it's intended). It would have been nice to make some variations in the chords to bring a renewed interest. Especially since your instrumental plays for 5 minutes.
But it's pleasant and I enjoyed it. Well done.

Kindly regard

Ps ; Scaler1 or scaler2 is a good product to find variations into chords suite

Eric, I know you are experimenting here with new sounds but I really like the huge sound you've created with this! Sounds pretty good to me! Thanks, Torrey

Cool stuff - I'm not used to your playing being, for much of a piece, drawn back into the ensemble. It does makes sense though and sounds good. The fiddle part at 2.26 sounds at odds with the general tone but it makes a good contrast too.
Some Ebow work from you would REALLY sit within the ensemble.

Cheers

Eric,
Wild experiment. Jungle of tasty sounds. Pretty hypnotic too.
I started listening and reading your notes trying to focus, but then forgot what I was going to write about:) I like tunes that capture attention in soft way. Ok, remembered! I think the opening is too abrupt. If it was up to me, I would start with less instruments and add them as tune progresses. Scaler is a cool toy. I use it only as a scale / chord reference tool. I think I should experiment with it beyond my limited use. Thank you for sharing.

Misha.

Definitely cinematic, I like the development between the Celtic fiddle and the electric guitar. Very interesting chording. Enjoyed the atmosphere.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
