I regularly import fiddle tunes that contain both chords and melody. Occasionally I need to edit the melody, sometimes even delete 3 or 4 bars of melody notes.
In the on-line manual, under Editable Notation Mode, it says "In the Editable Notation mode you can enter, move, and edit notes and rests using standard mouse techniques– point and click, drag and drop, and right-click to open the Note Edit dialog. (My emphasis).
Apparently, this is not true. Standard mouse technique for deleting a range of anything is to hold the left mouse button down while highlighting a RANGE, then pressing Delete. This does not work. A BIAB Chat person told me that I had to delete one note at a time.
When I pointed out that when I right-click on a range of notes, one of the menu items is "Delete highlighted red notes", but there doesn't seem to be any explanation as to how to get "red" notes, she told me I'd have to contact Technical Services.
Does anyone have a way of deleting a range of notes?
I usually use Piano Roll mode to delete a range of notes.
1. Make sure "Melody" is selected (#1 on image)
2. Set the MIDI channels to "All" (#2)
3. Hold your left mouse button down and drag around the notes you want to delete
4. Press the delete key

The above is correct. It's just that Editable Notation mode does not allow multiple notes to be selected and manipulated. (It doesn't behave exactly the same as word processor software.)
If you want to delete a note in Editable Notation mode, hold the DEL key down and click on individual note-heads one at a time.
Another way to delete a range of notes is
1. Select "Edit >> Erase from... to..."
2. Enter the first bar number of the range of bars and then enter how many bars to delete
Thank you, Noel96. I think holding down the delete key while clicking notes may be the fastest method for me. That's a good tip.
Still, I don't think pgmusic should claim that editing (which would include deleting) notes in the notation window conforms to "standard mouse techniques". And I'm still puzzled over how to make one or more notes red so they can be deleted using the context menu item I mentioned.

If you put this on the wish list you will get a +1 from me. You also might want to add why the horizontal scroll bar doesn't work.
Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up. Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
