I have a lot of Real trks that I want to install. It seems that the Master Realtrks Installer will only go to a certain Realtrk number then stops. In the notes of Master Realtrks Installer (before it starts to install) it says the best way to install Real Trks is with the new Download manager. Just point the Download Manager at the folder you have the files already d/l and it will install them. No need to re-d/l them. Well either I can't figure out how to do this or it ain't working.

Any ideas on what I could do about this?

There should also be options in the D/L Manager to D/L/ everything I have in my account and install it.

Perhaps consider contacting PG Music Support . They should be able to assist you to resolve. They also have online Chat, or you can leave a message if the Online Chat is closed.

the download manager works by serial number. so if you got realtracks with a previous version of BIAB the download manager won't pick up those realtracks

Give it long enough and the Download Manager will download and install all the files you are entitled to this year.

The Download Manager application uses your unique Band-in-a-Box serial number to help the application determine what files you purchased. The application compares its file list to a list of the existing files on your computer. The application can then manage downloading the remaining files as a background task.

The benefit is all files will be downloaded while you continue doing whatever you want to do.

Conversely, it can take several hours, or even days, before all the files are downloaded and available for use.

Also, since the download list is tied to your Band-in-a-Box serial number, and the serial number changes with each upgrade, any bonus material you've accumulated from past years will not be recognized as available for download. You will need to manually download bonus material from your online account. As an aside, I suspect this is why you may possibly see files listed multiple times in your online account; the files need to be available for each Download Manager.

I did not know you could leave a message like that! Nice.

That explains why I was only seeing the last few Realtrks that came with the 2021 upgrade in the D/L Manager. Thanks.

This is where I see a need for improvement. We should be able to enter different serial numbers from past purchases to allow D/L Manager to d/l and install all our files, not just the most recent purchase. Especially the Real Trks!! I was able to use the Master RT Installer from 2017, but even though all my RT was in the same folder, it stopped somewhere around 250-270. Then I had to install the rest (from 2018,2019, 2020) which wasn't a whole lot, just didn't make sense to me at the time.

I think I have finally (for the first time!) have all my content d/l and installed.

Not sure about those Re-Amp files though. What are they for? Do I need them?

Again, thanks for the replies!!!

There's always the option to re download all of BIAB 2021 and that should cover everything, including the last build.

Did it before and worked like a charm.

HTH!

Cheers,
Mike

I agree with you that it should cover everything, I just think it should d/l and install everything I own! : )

Maybe I didn't make myself clear in my first post. I was installing BiaB 2021, and all the extra content that I have (been a customer for years) from scratch, on a computer that I built last year. I never got around to installing BiaB on it. So I had to install all the Real Trks again because I am using different drives, M.2 instead of spinning hd.

On a plus note, the feature BiaB has to show you what add ons you have and don't have helped tremendously.

The "What Add-Ons Do I Have" feature answers many questions most users may have. I think PG Music has spent considerable effort improving the accuracy of the displayed information.

As others have mentioned, the download manager searches for files based on your currently activated serial number. We are looking into ways of having the download manager be able to access more files than what is currently possible, specifically for customers who have upgraded to smaller packages than they initially purchased or who purchased add-ons.

Agreed Jim. That feature was a great help. In fact I would have to say it was the reason I was able to figure out what I had installed and if BiaB could see it. Works great.

Thanks for your response Simon. It's good to know that ya'll are looking to improve the Download Manager. As it is, it is a great help. I used it several years ago to d/l all my Real Tracks and I still have them saved. It was those d/l files that I used for this recent 'install from scratch'.

I took a pic of the RealTrack Installation Manager 2017 text, that led me to believe that the new Download Manager could do what I was wanting. So I tried to go to the D/L Manager and looked it all over, tried this, tried that, but I could not get it to recognize the files that I already had d/l.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
