Interesting questions. I enjoyed the test.

It would be nice to know which question(s) I responded to incorrectly. I think it would be more of a learning experience if the correct answers were provided when questions are incorrectly answered.

You're doing a great job of finding interesting ways to maintain someone's interest in Band-in-a-Box.

That was fun. I disagree with one of the answers, though it’s splitting hairs.

Fun Test. I got 7/7 correct but with an asterisk...

On my system pressing Enter advances the Curser. Pressing the Space Bar starts play from the selected bar. It's a setting in Preferences but I didn't make any changes in my preferences so I'm unsure if I were to deselect that setting that BIAB may default to pressing Enter to start play.

Regardless, the other choices to that question were incorrect leaving Enter as the logical guess.

I had to slow down and think about two other questions as well. It would have been easy to get tripped up. Made the test more fun...

Bet one of the questions I had to think about was likely also the one you disagree with.

The quiz is fun and makes you think about BIAB, so it accomplishes its goal.

I don't want to discuss the individual topics here, since I would just be a wet blanket, but I have three problems.

Test construction is tough. I was a college prof then academic dean in charge of faculty professional development.

I did the test and got 6/7. Well, some things are not quite so black and white. But good on the O/P for the creativity. Nice job.

6 of 7 the one I missed I did not read correctly.

The good thing about Joannes test is these are questions that come up on the forums quite regularly.

Well done Joanne.

I'm standing in the corner with a dunce cap on!

I missed one question because I am partially color blind, one because I misread the question, and one answer that I disagree with, i.e. the space bar should have been included. Of well back to the corner I go!

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

Thanks to all who have tried out the quiz! I have made one correction to question 7 and also put it so that you can immediately see if you got the answer correct. I have also put in some explanations of the answers. Onwards!

I did the test again, and wow, this time I got 7/7. I must be getting smarter grin

PS: Like the new on-screen answer format. Great effort Joanne. Many thanks.

I took the test again and I got all 7 correct: I read the questions more carefully this time and I remembered the color for that question.

I like the fact that you have the answers included.

Great job Joanne!

Hello Joanne,
I took the quiz and enjoyed it. The implementation on that platform is strong.
Including the Answer deepened the learning experience.
I can envision helpful applications of this system.

What this laborious? How long to create the 7 questions quiz?

I am curious about your next step? Where or How are you thinking of employing this?

Roy

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
