Great build starting with the piano/bass, and, man, when that guitar came in I knew we were in for a pleasant ride. Drums and strings and we were off on a fun musical adventure. Excellent title, too. That's exactly what it sounds like. Restless with all the emotion that will bring. Really good stuff, Will.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Mr. Josef...

Exquisite! You began your composition with a sensuous, moonlit, tango-like rhythm adorned with a soulful classical guitar solo, and then, you 'funked it up' with that Real Drum snare while painting wisps of midnight-toned strings over it. This is finely-felt, atmospheric, sexy 'Latin/jazz' music for the road, as the title of the track and the accompanying photo suggests. It's a fresh and welcome diversion in its sound and feel on the forum.

Nice...that was an abrupt change though...I'd have like it foreshadowed by a snare or cymbal hit in the bar before but that's no biggie. NICE one.

Hello Will,

while listening to your song I heard a lot of things happened; firts only the piano and the acoustic bass, then the nylon guitar entered and changed the sphere in a nice way and suddenly the drums entered! I thought 'where is this leading to'? My fantasy of being in a classic restaurant was shattered, but you brilliantly managed to keep it all in hand. So your song is fascinating and nice at the same time!

Will,

First thing that jumped out was that great jazz bass . . . beneath the piano, it’s just lovely. The acoustic solo just resonates. Real pretty piece, very well constructed and executed. I went back a couple time to listen to the drum introduction . . . I’m wondering if they overshadow things a bit . . . perhaps dial the volume back a bit to let that guitar and piano continue to lead? Just a thought—see what others think.

All my best to you,

Deej

Very enjoyable mood, the acoustic piano fills the air nicely at birth, then the acoustic guitar leads to youth. Bit expectant, but finally the drums shift the gear for the free ride on the highway of life, describing the restlessness of the soul very well. Beautiful chord progression all the way, but especially on the guitar right before the drums. Melancholic from start to the peaceful exit or maybe it's just a break for a dinner.

Thanks a lot to both of you for listening. Very much appreciated!

Initially I made another mix with the drums lower in volume but I felt the track lost a lot of energy that way, so I decided to go with this mix. I understand that this is probably also a matter of taste.

Thanks again!

Will,

super job putting this together! That beautiful guitar track is the focal point but the backing band is the glue that holds it together! The arrangement is lovely as well as the chord structure! Very nice job with the mix! Thanks, Torrey

Will, you have produced the most perfect melodic instrumental. That nylon string guitar was the perfect lead instrument. The piano was spot on also. Personally I don't think that you needed the drums, I'd like to hear this without it, but that is just my opinion.

An excellent piece of music.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

Hi Mario,

My "ambient/chill" part of my musical brain absolutely understand what you mean, but I needed the drums to confirm the picture and feeling I had in my head about driving... it is difficult to explain... it just didn't feel right to me without the drums (I tried the mix without drums).

Thanks a lot for listening and commenting!

Hi Josef,

It is a pretty very intimate composition that you offer us where all the instruments can be expressed. The playing of the guitar is splendid. And the piano very alive. It is really well done. I really enjoyed it. Thanks to you.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
