I am wanting to create some tracks that have a very jazz feel but striaght rhythm instead of swung. All the jazz real tracks seem to be only swing unless im missing something?
Does anybody know any good jazz real styles that can be straight / even? Think Judy Garlands "Over the Rainbow" for example.
Jazz tends to be swung, but you could try Latin ... Bossa, say?
Jazz relative beginner, starting at a much older age than was helpful. Kawai MP6, Korg M50, Ui24R, Saffire Pro 40. AVL:MXE Linux; Windows 11; Win8.1: Scarletts BIAB2022 UltraPAK, Reaper, a bunch of stuff.
In the StylePicker you can use the "EvSw" column to check if a song as an even or swing feel to it. A lot of Jazz does tend to be swing, as mentioned above, but just taking a cursory glance I do see some ev8 and ev16 for things labelled under Jazz in the genre column. Keep in mind, however, what package and add-ons you have may determine how limited your options are. For example, I have an UltraPAK with all the XtraStyles PAKs, Loops with Styles PAKs, and XPro.

A way that's helped me in similar situations is to use the RealTracks picker to search by artist. Here's an example using PG Music Artist Dwight Sills. This artist may not be suitable for your project but I'm using him to demonstrate the concept I'm sharing.
In the example of Dwight Sills there are 8 individual RealTracks. Some are Swing. Some are Even feel and each has a different tempo. Some are Soloist tracks and some are rhythm tracks. But in this example, the artist is playing the same instrument so the amount of recorded material to select and build a track is greatly increased. I found that although not all of the recorded material in each track is suitable to mix and match, there's usable material that can be used to mix and merge into a single performance in each track.
For instance, many of the rhythm tracks have nice riffs that will work within a Soloist track and can be added to enhance the even feel of an otherwise swing track that on it's own, is too much swing.
RealTracks are purposely made to be somewhat generic in genre and searching for these Dwight Sills RealTracks will reveal that this artist's Jazz RealTrack Performances are used in dozen's of RealStyle genres. This is also true of many different PG Music RealTrack artists and instruments.
The work is a bit tedious but very rewarding and productive.
You could always put it in Reaper, set the grid to the swing then insert stretch markers at grid positions, then set the grid back to even and snap stretch markers to grid. You could automate it to do this for all bars.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
