This is one that serves two purposes, It's a testimony of what Jesus did for me, this year, and the church that I go to is called New Life Apostolic Tabernacle, so the name is fitting with the church.
Plus, it felt good to get the fingers limbered up on the lead guitar!!

I've Got A New Life

https://soundcloud.com/ronniefields/ive-got-a-new-life

Chorus:

I've got a new life since Jesus saved my soul,
I've got a new life since he cleansed and made me whole.
Satan is mad because he knows he cannot win,
since Jesus came and gave me new life again.

The devil thought he had me lying in that hospital bed,
he said, Man, I got you guess what, your dead.
But Jesus came in and said, this cannot be,
because you see old slew foot, he's coming back with me.

I've got a new life since Jesus saved my soul,
I've got a new life since he cleansed and made me whole.
Satan is mad because he knows he cannot win,
since Jesus came and gave me new life again.

I've got a new life since Jesus saved my soul,
I've got a new life since he cleansed and made me whole.
Satan is mad because he knows he cannot win,
since Jesus came and gave me new life again.

Loved it Ronnie! Nice to hear you playing some guitar with some great licks! That organ in there also really gives the song that little bit extra! Thanks, Torrey

Hi Ronnie,

I like your new shuffle - very catchy.

Vocals - as previously mentioned, you could benefit from some effects to put your voice in the "same room" as the backing band. Specifically:

EQ - Roll off the bass.
Reverb - a good dollop.

Mix - all sounds fine but there is a huge spike at 32 seconds which needs to be removed.

Look forward to hearing a remix.

Best Regards
Nigel

Enjoyed the song and the tasty guitar licks.

I agree with Nigel that the vocal could probably do with a bit of work to place it in the same space.

The term "slew foot" is a new one for me, so you made me learn something, too! wink

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Gospel at its absolute best!

Great song! Super lyrics and backing tracks; you can't go wrong with a B3 and guitar!

Super chops man!

I agree about the vocals. In a song like this I would put a slap back delay on it to make it sound more like the singers of the 50s. YMMV

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

The Happy Goodman Family goes modern shuffle!

Nice gospel Ronnie and your performances on vocals and guitar really drive it.

Enjoyed it.

Hi Ronnie,

I enjoyed listening to your song a lot...great stuff! I have to agree with some of the other people commenting... your vocal sounds a bit like it is recorded in another room (which it of course is, but reverb and eq can help a lot with fixing that so we all get the feeling that you are in the same space/room as the band).

Anyway, I am looking forward to hear more from you!

Ronnie,

This is a toe-tapping blues tune. Like the write a lot, particularly that “old slew foot” reference. The lead solo is slick. Production wise my only nit is the very beginning of the song, which dives right into the thick of it, without much introduction. But it’s just a nit. And, yes, the vocal could come forward, a bit more crystal—but the song has heart and resonates. Nicely done!

All my best to you,

Deej

Pretty nifty little tune you have there Ronnie!
It kinda has an old Ray Charles feel. Great song to wake up the church!

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
