I thought that 1,000 "loops" were to come with BIAB/RB 2021.

Question 1: Are these in BIAB or in RB or both?

Question 2: And, how can I find them and put them on a track?

I've looked in "Styles" and searched for the word "loop" but only had 20 +/- hits.

Question 3: Are these "loops" wav files or seq files?

Thanks for any help.

Loops are a subfolder under RealTracks.

Each loop has one audio file and two support files.

One way to select a loop is to (a) right click on a mixer track space to open a sub menu then (b) choose the "Select a Loop for this track []" option.

This opens a "Pick A Loop" window.

Clipboard01.jpg (103.05 KB, 88 downloads)
Loops location: drive > bb > RealTracks > Loops
Clipboard02.jpg (19.98 KB, 88 downloads)
Three loop file types: bt6 wav AcidInfo.txt
Clipboard03.jpg (33.59 KB, 86 downloads)
Right click in empty mixer track space to open sub menu. Choose the "Select a Loop []" option.

Select A Loop window.

There's also a Loops button in the Tracks toolbar that'll bring up the Loops Dialog window:

Darn Simon, I knew there had to be an easier way to get to them! smile

One extra serious comment; any third party content has to be inside the Loops folder before the "Pick A Loop" window will display it.

As I was learning RealBand it took me a bit to figgur out that the "mixer" you were referencing was in BIAB.

I also found out that with RealBand... While looking at the Tracks View...
I could...
- select all or part of a track
- Right Click
- Click Generate
- Click Select and Generate Loops

Either way... it looks like most of the loops are drums or bass...

I was looking for some loops that could be used to make a unique arrangement...
like you might find in my very old copy of Sony Acid Pro 7.0. (Now owned by Magix)

Maybe they are there and I just need to dig a little deeper.

Regardless of the loops I'm happy so far with my 2021 BIAB/RB package.

Thanks for the help Guys.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
