Intoxicatie Yet another dream song... I had a dream where my colleagues were sitting at the table, drinking, tapping the table and singing a song - I remembered the first words and the chorus melody when I woke up, although I had to modify the melody a little because it sounded bit too much like Paloma Blanca, a hit in Europe in the 70's. Hopefully the resemblance is not that obvious anymore. Originally the lyrics were in Finnish, but when translating, I came up with that funny song title when I couldn't rhyme 'lady' properly. And then I realized I could use 'strong' female names in the verses I'm sure I could develop the story even further but it is time to give it a rest now and showcase it to you. I hope you enjoy my humor All comments welcome! Naturally, BIAB provided excellent rock instruments for the backing band. The band is based on the style _FURIOUS.STY: RealDrums [in style:SouthernPop8ths^01-a:Hat, Snare, b:Open Hat, Snare Loops: Cajon124_04 ev16, Cajon124_05 ev16 RealTracks: RealTracks in style: ~579:Bass, Electric, Blues Roadhouse Ev 120 RealTracks in song: 2625:Guitar, Baritone Electric, Rhythm BluesBoogieBassAndLicks Ev 100 RealTracks in style: 2635:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm CountryBluesRockHigh Ev 110 RealTracks in song: 1850:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm PopShiningGrittyMuted Ev 120 RealTracks in song: 3352:Guitar, Baritone Electric, Soloist SwampyBluesTalkBoxBrent Ev 095 RealTracks in song: 3361:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm BritClassicRock70sHeld Bottle emptying sound effect (recorded by myself, plain water though) Vocals by me Mixed in Cakewalk by BandLab Lyrics: Sinking booze with cheerful feeling with both hands, surely isn't bland no lady like Intoxicatie will ever be my thrill. I had heard enough all her nagging all her cheating no mental uplifting no gratitude no greeting Sherry was a savage no balm after beating luckily a timeless potion gracefully treating. Sinking booze... Margarita left me she had no sense of humor came autumn then winter her comeback still a rumor longing is too painful a tearshedding tumor but I have found a healer, I'm a homebrew consumer. I can feel a tender kissing on my lips my heart beats fast for the drought ending sips. Sinking booze... I have missed a touch for too long I've been impatient but Brandy won't tell when she grants the next sensation mutual and intimate brush in her basement sentiment is scorching but a shot's the replacement. I can feel the warmness gushing in my blood the fire of love in the overwhelming flood. I can feel the spirits tingle in my loins the elixir of gods seeks the stream of life to join. ---------------- Janne

Man, you should keep pen, paper and BiaB ready while you sleep, Janne. "Sherry was a savage no balm after beating luckily a timeless potion gracefully treating." This is so much fun. And so much funny. Love your sense of humor and the way you bring it in to play. Right from the intoxicating rhythm to the development of the melody and instrumentation. Then you add all the special touches including the "bottle emptying sound." Very creative!

Janne, First of all, very cool and positive tune! Secondly, I do not know what you changed, but your vocals are very clear! Remember whatever the settings you used Brave choice of instruments + FX and clever composition. Love the title. Listens well. Thank you for sharing. Misha.

Love it, Janne!
Your title reminded me of the title of an album by Polish jazz vocalist Anna Maria Jopek "Upojenie". Wikipedia translated it as "rapture", but I had a Polish woman translate it for me as "intoxicated with you". BTW, Upojenie was the album she made with Pat Metheny.

Two words come to mind: FUN and CLEVER Your vocals and the talkbox guitar nailed the fun vibe. The mix is excellent...great soundstage on the monitors. Regarding that BiaB wish you have ... well, we already have Moderna vax RNA crawling around our brains so we might as well have a chord creator also Enjoyed it! J&B

Hi Janne,
A very good one! I had to read the lyrics a couple of times and then the dime dropped. Very funny story, in spite of the experience with Margarita...
The rhythmic section is very good and sounds bright and addictive. And you made good use of that swampy vocal box.
also, as misha and Ray wrote; the vocals are much brighter than in yur previous songs. Although they were very nice too.
Cheers, Hans

Two thumbs up. Thanks Mario for your very uplifting words and the thumbs I considered using vocoder in my vocal track, but I thought it would just make my vocals more difficult to understand. But it was fun to find that talkbox RT guitar, it fit nicely with the not-so-sober mood of the song Janne

You have some of the most clever mixes around... Great song - love the tracks and the creative way you used that loop.
Nicely done!

Thanks Misha for your kind and positive comment Glad you liked the title also Actually, I didn't change anything in my vocal effecting (I use the vocal strip effect of Cakewalk, except my previous song where I used Nectar). But maybe I sang louder and fixed problems with Melodyne better, so I didn't have to bury my mistakes in the mix. I also used less reverb on the whole song, that could have had an impact. Janne

Janne,
excellent job building that backtrack! The drums sound extra good on this (I've used that same set myself before). Overall sound is great. The chord structure and melody are super! Great job! Thanks, Torrey

User Tip: How to add drum fills without changing any other tracks
MarioD has shared some great advice when it comes to adding drum fills without changing any other tracks in your song:
There have been a number of questions asking how to add drum fills without changing any other tracks in a song. This is especially important if one is holding a chord for a few measures and wants to add a drum fill prior to the next chord. The following is how to accomplish that:
1-get the instruments/tracks to play like you want but don't worry about the drums for now.
2-generate the song.
3-freeze all tracks
4-unfreeze the drum track
5-add your fills where you want them
6-generated the song again - note this will only generate the drum track and not the frozen tracks
7- when you get the drums like you want them freeze the track
