Our new song ECHO is a cowrite by me and Greg Johnson. Thank you Greg!
It is based on a true story. Greg is a wonderful writer, vocalist and producer.

The only BIAB track he used is the guitar solo.......RT 2448.
The guitar is Picked Acoustic from Native Instruments,
the Fretless is Iconic Bass Jaco from Orange Tree Samples,
and the synth pad is from Omnisphere.

Thank you for watching. We hope you enjoy it. Josie

Greg and I thank you very much! No, I'm not singing on this one. That's sweet to say.
I thought Greg nailed it and I didn't hear the need to be on there just to be on.

Sundance and Greg,

Wow, what a pretty tune. I’m such a fan of Greg’s soft, warm vocals (and they sing here) . . . but more so the wonderfully perfect lyrics he often writes—and here, a collaboration that shines on both your writing talents—impressive. What an excellent collaboration—outstanding work!

My best to the both of you,

Deej

A song like this is what happens when you pair two outstanding singer-songwriters.

Absolute magic…

Josie & Greg - you should be immensely proud of this song.

Beautiful touching cinematic story. Great vocals, liked those echos also. The arrangement is simple but very effective, even though I was waiting for some galloping drums to join in smile

This song reminded me of Michael Murphey's Wildfire back in the seventies. Great job!

A lovely mix of warm voice and sentimental story telling.
The high hat & tambourine parts seem rather too prominent and mechanical in my headphones.
Otherwise it's an arrangement and mix that well fit the narrative.

Cheers

What a great job on all accounts. From the excellent writing to the recording that was exceptional. This is the kind of song a songwriter hopes to be able to write. It hits the heart.

Outstanding job.

My question from the song..... How did she end up in a wheelchair, or does it even factor into the story?

BTW: second listen is on good buds.... really nice soundscape.

I couldn't help but think about how this parallels the Michael Martin Murphy song Wildfire in so many ways.

A lovely emotive vocal, beautiful melody and a touching lyric.

The acoustic guitar worked nicely.

The video still shot was very expressive.

Well done y'all.

Beautiful song. The acoustic guitar is gorgeous. The music and lyrics are great together, and well-performed lyrics.

I would adjust the tambourine (is there hi-hat there too?). It sticks out a bit too much and grabs one's attention away from the overall sound, imo. I'd try softening it with eq, a eq with a high shelf eq rolled up until you hear the sound soften a bit. I'd also lower the volume a bit. Just my opinion, everybody's got one.

Hello friends,

On behalf of Greg and myself to all of you who listened and commented on this song:

Greg was very busy and my big sister passed away shortly after this song was posted.
I'm through that rough patch now and want to say thank you to each of you.

I agree with Frankp above... tambourine could use some taming...
That said, this is a terrific song & production, and Greg's vocal performance is Fabulous...
Really fine music...

This is a very melodic song. Great lead vocal and mix. I would like to hear the background vocals just a little bit higher because they really add to the mix. Great work.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
