I didn't post this tune for several months, because I was in a state of depression after all what happened to me, my family and close friends in 2020 - the Covid-19-year.

I made the track in the beginning of this year (2021) - I wanted to somehow reflect the anxiety and confusion most of us felt during the pandemic year of 2020 - how would a classic romantic piece have sounded if it had been composed this year?

Romance Anönimo 2021

Normally I would now list a number of RealTracks that I have used, but it doesn't really make sense in this case. I sampled a bunch of RT's and used them as inputs for a granular synth so I could create my own unique sound for this track.

The piano is Stage-73 from Arturia.

Let me know what you think!

Very atmospheric sounds - not sure if that's a word.
Pretty track Will, it sounds like a movie scene score.

Hey Will,

Sounds great. Good to see you back!

This is cool. I think this is one of the first guitar pieces I learned as a kid.

Will,
Interesting and dark meditational interpretation. Probably the most unusual Anónimo I have heard. Cool.
Thank you for sharing.

Will, excellent work on a very cinematic sounding track! A lot of care went onto your production and it has paid off! Thanks, Torrey

Will,

A beautiful piece. Your sampled-RT-synth sounds are super.

Sounds really cool in headphones. Good work. Relaxed with a slight tension.

I thought it was a scene from The Birds at 1st.
The backing is sombre and dark with a sad melody riding it but I think you overplayed your hand with the FX - they are unrelenting and do conjure anxiety but, on my part, that morphed into annoyance because I wanted the melody to have some space and provide some resolution.

Nice work - like David I learned this on classical guitar.

Interesting use of synths sounds and technology.

It definitely captures the anxiety and depression of the period in a very cinematic way.

Using the RT's for samples is something I don't recall anybody else doing. Very interesting.

Well done!

Will,

This should be in a movie. It’s that good…

Creative and excellent sounding.

Thoroughly enjoyed.

Will, this is fantastic! I can see this one being used in a sy-fy movie. An excellent listen through headphones: I normally don't listen through headphones but I took Floyd's advice and I'm glad that I did.

This is a fantastic song - loved it.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
