IK Multimedia is currently (until August 31) running a "Group Buy", where you buy one product and get X additional products of equal value for free (currently 6 free products, but will probably be more as more people join). For instance, buy Amplitube 5 CE for $149, and get Fender Collection, AmpliTube Leslie, Modo Bass SE, T-RackS 5, SampleTank 4 SE and Miroslav Philharmonik 2 CE for free. Extremely good value for money, IMHO.

Bummer I already own most of those products ...

19 for 1 now. A bit unusual promotion, I must say (who's going to buy full-priced licences for these products in the forthcoming years?), which makes me suspect IKM is planning to go for a subscription model soon. But that's just me speculating.

Never the less, for someone who don't already own their products, this promotion is extremely good value for money. Some of the Amplitube collections are really great (Fender 2, Orange). Several of the TRacks plugins are my goto plugins (Brittish Channel, Stealth Limiter, Tape Echo, Master EQ 432). SampleTank contains several nice patches, and the Clavitube extension is really good. And the Modo Bass is excellent.

I think I topped out at most of this stuff in a similar deal a few years ago, and so I think I am set for the foreseeable future.

But I love their products and use many of them quite frequently. They are a staple of my studio.

This group buy is now extended until Oct. 31.

The sale applies only to software, but you if buy one piece of software, you currently get 20 additional pieces of software of equal or lesser price for free. (So buy 1, get 21, and even if you've already bought, that could go up to buy 1, get 25 by Oct. 31!)

Thank you Bjorn Beskow for giving everyone on this forum a heads-up about this exceptional deal!!!

Also thank you eduardosv for keeping ours eyes on this IK Multimedia sale!

I pulled the trigger on this. I had many previous versions of IK products (32-bit mostly), but I do own SampleTank 4 Max (got it on sale last year at a good price). The group buy topped out at the max, so you get 25 total products (of equal or lesser value to the one you purchased).

I bought Amplitube 5 for $199.99, so that allowed me to also get:

  • Syntronik, and then completed the collection of Syntronik sounds by getting Syntronik M-Poly, Syntronik Modulum, Syntronik SH-V,and Syntronik VCF-3. The Syntronik sounds also play in SampleTank 3 and 4.
  • Sampletron 2
  • MixBox
  • T-RackS 5
  • Hammond B3-X
  • Modo Drum
  • Modo Bass
  • MixBox
  • Lurssen Mastering
  • Several SampleTank 4 Sound Libraries (to mostly complete the ones not included in ST4 Max), including LA Confidential, Alternate Keys, Clavitube, Spaceport 77, Electromagnetik Electric Grand C70P, Electromagnetik Stage 73 Mark V, Electromagnetik Electric Piano Bass, Electromagnetik Wurly Model 120, Cinekinetik Shipwreck Piano, Cinekinetik Fractured Piano, Cinekinetik Malletopia, and Cinekinetik Malletension.

All in all, not a bad deal for $200. I'm working on downloading all the content and my "sounds" drive is now almost full with all the IK, Native Instruments, PGMusic, and other content I have. But a lot of fun stuff to play with.

Of course, it makes me wonder if IK Multimedia is now planning to make a major shift corporately or if they are going out of business. $2000 worth of software for $200 seems almost too good to be true, or just needed an injection of cash because of Covid. Things that make you go hmmmm...

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
