I watched a video on UTube about using BIAB to make a solo part and add it to your project on your DAW. This was not the Henry Clarke video.
On that video, the narrator built a BIAB solo on a chorded song. Once he liked it, he simply grabbed the solo track from the Mixer with his mouse with a Drag & Drop and moved it over to his Cubase DAW where he dropped it on an existing blank track.
Note, he did not use the Drag & Drop options in the upper left corner of BIAB, just moved from the BIAB window to his DAW window and he did not have the BIAB active in his DAW (at least I didn't see it on his screen).
So I thought, okay cool, looks simpler than other options, so I tried doing it using a solo on BIAB and dragging it from the BIAB Mixer to a blank audio track in my Cakewalk DAW. Couldn't make it work. Tried a Copy/Paste move as well as the mouse drag, but neither worked.
My question: Is it possible to such a drag/drop for a "track" from BIAB directly onto a DAW track? If it is, I'm doing something wrong.

Pay attention the details in Matt's post. I do not drag from BiaB, but noted he mentions the radio button; may be significant. I know in RB it works best if I drag the Track Number (not the waveform visual area or anywhere else). YMMV
Make your sound your own! .. I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome
Well, after trying to duplicate what @rharv posted, I can't get the drag/drop to work directly from BIAB into Cakewalk DAW.
I could also not get Matt Finley's drag using the radio button on a regular (Not Utility) track to work.
What I get is with both Cakewalk and BIAB open, when I mouse to the track (or radio button) the cursor switches to a circle with a line though it. And I can't drag it to anywhere along the track in CW, trying both a blank audio track and a blank MIDI track just to confirm neither works.
I can, however, drag it to the DROP Box in the upper left corner of BIAB and it creates a WAV file correctly. Of course I can then Import that WAV file into CW (but not drag it into CW).
Whether this is something with how I have BIAB setup or Cakewalk set up (or my own ineptness),, it's not a real need for me, since I can easily go through the steps of saving the tracks, going to the BIAB folder containing those tracks, then using the Import function in Cakewalk to populate the tracks. Twas just seeing it done in a video as well as in @rhav's screen action, it looked like a simple way to save a couple steps.
So again, thanks all for the help, but it's not worth any more of sometone's time or my time to figure it out, when I have a perfectly good way of getting the end result another way.

That may well be the issue! Will give that a try. Thanks!!

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
