LET THEM TALK

Hi Folks,

Here is a song I recorded some time ago with Susan de Jong and guitarist extraordinaire Mike Arthur. I have recently remixed it.

Vocals - Susan de Jong.
BV's & Live Audience - The Ooh Ya Ya Gospel Choir.
Guitar - Mike Arthur
Pianos - Nigel Spiers & Band In A Box Pianist.
Drums - Band In A Box Real Track - NashvilleSkip10.
Bass - Band In A Box Real Track 752.
All other backing instruments from a Band In A Box Midi Style (unfortunately I don't have a record of the Style.

Music & Lyrics by Nigel Spiers
Christchurch, New Zealand

All comments and suggestions most welcome.

Excellent guitar player and super tone. Incredible vocal and harmonies. Piano and backtrack were super. Tempo change was very cool. Well done.

Nigel,

Nice bluesy start with some tasty guitar!

You vocalist has done an excellent job here, especially with the background parts!

Clever use of ambient background noise during the transition to the uptempo part!

Overall, you have done a very good job with your mix and final production giving the listener a professional sounding experience!

Thanks. Torrey

Wow, excellent piano and, man, you surround yourself with equal talent, Nigel. Outstanding mix and I live the song. Yeah, let them talk --they can only say amazing things about this. You, Mike and Susan really give them something to talk about for sure.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Great blues guitar, great vocalist, gospel choir, and then country picking guitar. (Not to ignore the piano, of course).

Tasty stuff!

What's not to like?

Yea! laugh

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Great blues and gospel music both done in an outstanding mix with some outstanding musicians.

Loved it.

Man, at the energy. MOVIN' And those pipes. My goodness, this lady can wail.

Great band with that full on gospely thing going. Loved the choir and arrangement. The ending kinda fizzled a bit...a long, slow fade might be in order.

I'm well on board with the lyric, too. Hugely enjoyed.

Hi Torrey,

Thanks for all your wonderful comments.

The BV's are done by a real choir and that choir also does all the background talking and hand claps etc.

Best Regards
Nigel

Great lyrics, vocals and instruments. So well mixed that at times I couldn't tell whether I was listening to a recording or hearing it a live setting.

My music may not set the world on fire but if it causes a glow in just one person's heart, it has all been worthwhile smile

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
