My first contact with band in a box was 10 years ago. I was confused when I went in. And never used it again.
Ten years later
With the recommendation of my friends, I tried band in a box 2021, which made me very excited.
In my case, I personally prefer to use VST plug-ins.
But I did encounter some problems in the process of using it. The most important thing is that if the chord is too long, the greater the change, the more hierarchical, but I can't write every song very long.
Therefore, I hope to add a function
For example, I wrote a chord, C F G C
Then I can select intro, which is more suitable for intro when it is output
Then you can also select verse, chorus, bridge
Of course, you can go in the normal way without choosing
Then every time it is generated, it will change, as it is now
After generation, we choose ourselves to match the composition. I think this method is very suitable for VST
What do you think?
In fact, many good songs don't need too many chords, just 1-4. Why should I input so long below in order to get changes, so I hope to add this function.
In addition, it's best to turn the VST into a player. Each wav can click and play on the VST, just like the demo key.
In fact, I want to know how you compose music now, VST or the main program. I think the combination of VST and Daw should be the trend.
You think my suggestion is good. Please help me revise the wording to let the band in a box know. I look forward to the next version grin

Finally, I look forward to more official videos of songs made with VST. Let more people see how convenient VST is.
I think most of the songs on the Internet are videos of the main program, and there should be more VST

See this request here Instant Generate & Play of RealTracks/Drums in BiabVST
this will allow you to instantly re-generate any selected section of chords in the VST without having to generate another complete wav file, allowing you to create up the instrument track just how you like.

I'm going to study hard today.
Because I've been looking for the best way to work with VST and the main program.
I thought I found it
First write the framework with the main program, which needs to be longer, because it will be different from the previous one.
A and B are OK. There is no need for C and D, because VST is better at how to change or add new things later.
However, there is a problem with the sound, because the output of the main program is different from that of VST.
Sometimes I wonder if the designer is deliberately complicating things
Why not unify VST with the main program.
At least the sound settings should be the same. If they are different, it means that VST and the main program can't work together.
I need to rest now. I'll read your post this afternoon. Thank you

I thought you would be best to have the VST set to Flat, Dry & Center to allow adding FX in the DAW as you can't remove the mixer FX that Biab add to the wav's.
You have Channel Sends in v3 Plugin that can send from the VST to a track with the FX.

Or there is a ReWire Guide

I don't understand what this paragraph means. Does it mean to hang the generated wav to the effector plug-in?

I know:
Check render flat mix = sound louder
Check render dry mix = reverb cancel
Check render center pan. I don't know what this means. Is it to cancel left pan and right pan and make the sound in the middle?

So when the sound gets louder, I usually don't hang up FX. I think it's enough.
In addition. I won't check the second one. I think it's good to have a little reverb.
However, this is not necessarily true.
What I want to know now is what these checks do. Although there are explanations above and I have inquired, I still don't understand.
Finally, if you hang up the mix console, just check render dry mix, because this is to cancel reverberation, which has no effect, and you can operate on the effector.
I don't understand why to check render dry mix is to cancel reverberation. Why not check render dry mix? It's to cancel the reverb. Why not design it as a knob
I found that band in a box has many differences from my inertia logic, and I am trying to adjust my habits for this

Oh, I see. Check 1 to make the sound louder
Check 2 to cancel reverberation
Check 3 to focus the sound
Then the third picture is to add reverberation to the Daw channel of the guitar.
Is that what you mean, right?

Yes the three you mentioned is to allow you to do the mixing in the DAW instead of using the FX that BiaB uses in the RTs. It basically gives you a raw set of track the way they were recorded before FX. You might chose to mix the effects using a chain to get a more uniform sound. EQ, Compression, Limiting, Reverb, etc to your taste. Panning as you see fit. Many using automation to adjust any of these things.

I just learned that a single "dry" means dry
I don't understand why I checked render dry mix, but there is no reverb
In my logic, there is reverberation when it is turned on. Or it would be better to turn this option directly into reverberation.
But now I know that dry means dry.

Audio people call a mix with no effects such as equalization, delay or reverb a dry mix. A mix that has effects is called a wet mix.

Thank you. Your words finally let me understand the meaning of "renger dry mix".
Thank you so much!
Teacher, if you have time, can you tell me what these mean.
Although there are notes on the mouse, the translation is only literal. In fact, I still don't know what these are for.

Normalize Renders:

Acidize Renders:

Pan MuliRiffs:

Allow MultiRiffs to Start Early or End Late:

Use High-Quality Streching:

This let me know new knowledge.
When I get familiar with it, I try. It makes me look a little complicated at the moment.
With your help, I have made a lot of progress. The more I use band in a box, the more I think it is an undervalued Music software.

Renger Flat mix:

Renger Dry mix: Mixing without equalization, delay, or reverberation

Render Center pan: Exported tracks are not panned to the left or right

Normalize Renders: Make exported tracks as loud as possible without distortion

Acidize Renders: Add key signature, tempo and number of beats in exported tracks

A MultiRiff is a small segment of a track; a musical phrase. You highlight the tracks and bar to select which part of the song to regenerate.

Pan MuliRiffs:Make a MultiRiff louder in the left or right channel

Allow MultiRiffs to Start Early or End Late: Sometimes a MultiRiff should start a little before or after the highlighted area to blend with the rest of the track

Use High-Quality Stretching: Stretching makes audio longer or shorter so the audio will fit in a specific part of a song. BiaB has several stretching rules and each rule balances computing speed against audio quality.

Auto-Clear Renders:Once track renders are copied to a DAW do you want the original renders to remain in a BiaB folder so you can keep as a backup or do you want the program to delete the render files?

Notify when generation is compete: A yellow or green message is displayed when audio files finish generating

Simplify File Names:Exported render files are automatically given a real long name. This tells the program it is okay to use smaller file names.

Separate Audio Output Channels: The Plugin can playback a master stereo mix or a mono or stereo audio output for each track

Enable Style Mix: Use the panning, equalization and effects as directed by the style.

thanks!
Renger Flat mix and Normalize Renders both make the sound louder, so what is the difference?

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
