Loved it! Right on!
Everything about this one is top notch but the lyrics put it over the top for me. So true!
Its only a coup IF we let it!
Super song!

Oh, man... nice classic sound, but mostly THANK YOU for a welcome "change of pace" in the Americana department.

Brilliant! Great singing and a good response to reactionaries. Terrific work!

I like the passion in your voice with this one. You throw everything at a song every now and then and this is a now.
Cool chord progression. I do wish BIAB had some better rock guitars - they opt for "hiGain" fizzy ones in the main. You've done an ace job with what is available..the added percussion lifts this a little more. The solo tone was pretty good. My suggestion, given you've used these, is do apply a cab sim to each guitar instance in your DAW...they'll reduce the fizz and add a little grunt.
The lyrics are brief but to the point...there's no need to paint an huge canvas when you can communicated the story succinctly.
Mind you, I suspect I'd have enjoyed this just as much if you'd used a skiffle group.

Couldn't agree more, Ezekiel. What a powerful delivery --the music, the lyrics and the vocal. Man, I never met any of the mindless minions you mention, except for a few wannabees, but it's scary to think minds could be molded so easily.
At first the drums seemed to stick out a bit too much, but then they were ignored or subsumed by powerful vocal and lyrics. This is overall an outstanding reaction to a very dark day, Well done.

I dig it, cool chord progression, nice tracks, and great conviction on the vocal. And truth in calling it what it was.

Scott, Excellent and time relevant rocker. Ace vocals and arrangement. Interesting stuff happening with drums. Mix is super clean, listens well. Good one! Thank you for sharing.

Powerful lyrics, "minions follow the master's delusion" - that's the biggest worry in any society. Nicely rocking tune, very good use of the percussions. Punk chord progression and grunge guitars, very cool combination. Excellent mix. I enjoyed your singing, especially the Coverdale-style heavy part.

Hello, 'Ezekial's Storm'...
As you already know, commenting on songs composed about controversial subjects can arouse prickly responses. Regardless, I believe that your lyrics for 'An American Coup' are so succinctly written, and your musical production is so powerful, that the song rises to a high level of distinction and excellence regardless of its subject matter.
I think Bob Dylan himself would approve of your courage, and also the way you express your social consciousness through creating music.
Last, but not least, you sing like a man with a mission
"Music is what feelings sound like."-- borrowed from a Cakewalk Music Creator forum member, "Mamabear".

This is a classic. Absolutely no doubt in my mind about it. Yes, as bluage writes, you sing like a man on a mission. Also, your technical ability to actually sing that like that is unbelievable. Maybe I'm wrong (I don't think I am), but you have shades of Freddie Mercury in your voice. A much more present in the here and now, down-to-earth Mercury, but it is there.
Brilliant job. Hats off to you - for so many reasons, of course.

Captain Moto, Mario, Mark, Tunemonger, Ray, Marty, OM, Bob, Floyd, Scott, Frank, Misha, Peter, Janne, Blueage, Musician 17:
Thank you for taking your time to listen and write comments. I wasn't sure if the high notes were passable, because its a different type of singing (if you can call it that).

Powerfully written and soulfully performed.
That was our immediate and lasting impression.
You assembled an excellent band and mixed the result very well.
Nothing like a good rocker to drive the message home!

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
