Time After Time

Look out my window, there’s brother fox
What’s he doing in my garden?
Some things never change and some get lost
Some hearts soften and some harden

Some thoughts are hard to keep at bay
They keep coming back day after day
Worm their way into my mind
Drag the sadness back, time after time

Look out! the prophets cry, the world is ending
I recall when I thought that they were wrong
But now take a look at how things are trending
Looks more like a question of how long

Some thoughts are hard to keep at bay
They keep coming back day after day
Worm their way into my mind
Drag the sadness back, time after time

Look for the sun to break on through the clouds
Look out for those little acts of kindness
Hope springs eternal, maybe we can turn aside
That flood of avarice and blindness

Some thoughts are hard to keep at bay
They keep coming back day after day
Worm their way into my mind
Drag the sadness back, time after time

Look to my lover to bring me solace
To offer me a place to hide
She lays a trail of crumbs for me to follow
Find the way back to my better side

Some thoughts are hard to keep at bay
They keep coming back day after day
Worm their way into my mind
Drag the sadness back, time after time
Time after time after time

Hi Peter. This one is outside the box lyric wise
and that's a good thing.

"Look for the sun to break on through the clouds
Look out for those little acts of kindness"

Very well crafted.
Congrats to all involved.

Hello Peter,

Very nice lyrics, but that is one of your strong things!
A very nice song, with a good band performance. I like that solo till the end.
A bit of hard rock entwined in a 'romantic' song with acoustic guitars.
The chorusses were strong, and with a nice bg vocal.
Yep, that makes a good song fantastic!

Hans

Super vocal, mix, and guitar tone and chops.

Loved it.

Nice collaboration. Well written song. Vocals are easy going yet the message is so heavy - nice contrast. Great electric guitar playing as always. Good one.

Excellent lyrics, Leon!

Nice production, love the bit at 3:18 where the band mostly drops out and the vocal harmony is added.

Nice solo and outro solo, Peter. Just the right amount of fuzz for me wink

Hi Peter,
An easy song to listen to and reflect. The lyrics you wrote invoke such imagery. Sadness and then hope...
Your vocals also set the mood and were well done. And finally, the solo at the end sounded great. Thanks for posting, I enjoyed the listen.

Peter & Leon.
Soft and sad tune. Good set of lyrics. This is pretty clever:
"She lays a trail of crumbs for me to follow
Find the way back to my better side"

Super guitar parts. Clear mix, listens easy. Fun photo smile Thank you for sharing.

Good vocal delivery on this. I dig the harmony too.

Guitar, as I expect would be, is superbly performed and crafted. Especially the ending part!

Strong chorus.

Well done.

Peter & Leon...

A song of 'reflection? Indeed. Don't know where the fox's story comes in, though it looked like it was sticking out its tongue at me smile.

The way Leon delivers his lyrics made the experience of listening to the song quite an 'interior' process, meaning that it was easy for me to feel what I imagine Leon was feeling -- I guess you could say I think I 'got inside his head' smile.

Peter, your electric guitar performance opened up musical vistas in the song that seem to enlarge the possibilities of meaning in the lyrics. It had the effect of sounding like something that could be heard over vast distances while providing a channel for Leon's solitary voice to speak through.

A fully involving musical production, this is.

Message easy to related to when sadness is always drawn back, still the hope is there in the little acts of kindness and in the crumbs to follow. Nicely rolling band, the pedal steel adds nice layer (also the synth/string pad not listed) and Peter's guitar is always pleasure to hear. Enjoyed also the warm vocals.

This one hits the mark on so many levels - composition, mixing, musicianship, lyrics etc. There is so much to like here that I'm somewhat reluctant to write anything negative. But if I picked one thing it would be the harmonies. There's a computer-generated feel/sound to them that doesn't seem to blend so well with the more human elements of the lead vocal and lead-guitar playing. Apart from that, great job. More please!

Regards,
Ghostgum

We love the lyric and can't we all relate to it these days?!

These lines are special:

"Look for the sun to break on through the clouds
Look out for those little acts of kindness
Hope springs eternal, maybe we can turn aside
That flood of avarice and blindness"

The lead vocal and harmonies are mighty fine and Peter's guitar solo, as always, is a perfect fit for the lyric and melody.

This was a fine band you put together and we especially liked the pedal steel. The dropout at approximately 3:13 was very effective.

The fox album cover is awesome too.

Always a pleasure,

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
