Here is another Halloween song I wrote and recorded.

I wrote and recorded much of it at the same time as "Creepy Crib," the Halloween song that I posted on this forum last Halloween. I put the finishing touches on it recently.

This was created with BIAB 2012.

Not much more to say about it other than Happy Halloween - I hope it's the worst that you've seen! smile

Here is:

Happy Halloween

Thank you for any listens and comments.

Here are the particulars:

Waltzin Waltzin' - slow sw Waltz

33 Acoustic String Bass 33
1 Acoustic Piano
1 Standard Drum Kit
26 Acoustic Guitar
49 Strings

I recorded the vocals into Mixcraft 5 via my SP1 mic via the Cl1 interface.
I recorded the organ part using my Yamaha PSRE403 into Mixcraft 5 via the Cl1 interface.

Happy Halloween

Who is that rapping at your darkened door?
I hope you are ready for what is in store
Maybe it's demons that chase you to Hell
It may be a werewolf, you never can tell

Happy Halloween
I hope it's the worst that you've seen
Happy Halloween
I hope it gives you bad dreams

Ghastly gowned goblins run wild in your street
The dead and the dying fall down at your feet
A witch on a broom stick flies past the full Moon
You wish it were over but it won't end soon

Happy Halloween
I hope it's the worst that you've seen
Happy Halloween
I hope it makes you scream

Vampires and pirates and zombies and ghouls
This is the night that the dark forces rule

Happy Halloween
I hope it's the worst that you've seen
Happy Halloween
I hope it's as bad as it seems

jpt3,

Appropriately spooky.

"I hope it's the worst that you've seen!" --- HA!

I'd say "It works!"

I'm going to be afraid to go to sleep tonight blush

Appropriately scary for this time of year.

Outstanding vocal backed by a scary organ.

Fantastic song.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Hi Jptjptjpt,

I was wondering how the idea for this song came to you!
We have no history in celebrating Halloween, however... it is coming more and more.
I even ate pumpkin soup two days ago.
But if people over here listened to your song I think it's definitly over!
Captain Moto said it well: I'm depressed by now, but (!) with a smile on how you did it all.
Very good to create that sphere. And wonderful how you introduced that double bass.

Well done Hallo Jpt,
Hans

Whoa...glad we listened to this midday! smile

The lyric, your vocal, the track choice and the fx all contributed to the spooky vibe.

OK, gonna go get a cup of coffee but we'll be looking over our shoulders...

Well done!

'jptjptjpt'...

Man, I had so much fun listening to you croon this holiday song with your death's-door voice that I actually was inspired to add my own improvised vocal effects along with you laugh.

I howled liked a lone wolf, I hooted like an owl, I cawed like an angry crow and hissed like an ol' alley cat. Seriously, I did, and then I laughed like all hell at myself.

If any trick-or-treating kids ring my doorbell tonight, I'm gonna play your song for them on my smartphone to give 'em a good laugh smile.

Great fun, dude, great fun!

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
