Hi all,
Patrick Fournerat has written the french lyrics and he sings.
Some people decide to give it all up and go to live another life somewhere else, but it's not so easy and it doesn't work every time...

Hi Chris,

The funky music is well played and nice, but a bit subordinate to the vocals.
You can hear it very well when the solo comes in.
I think the instrument need their own accents, to support the singing.
Otherwise it's more a song where the story is the main event.
But if so, why choose for funk then?

Having said that, I still think it's a very nice song with nice, clever lyrics (as far as my French goes...)
I think that's what your stongest thing: making songs where you can listen to a good, clever story.

Have a nice day,
Hans

Bass and drums plus six guitars? I thought I was going to be bored out of my brain but I was pleasantly surprised to find it all fitted together rather well. smile

RealTracks Artist Pat Martino

We are saddened to hear of the passing of jazz guitar legend Pat Martino yesterday.

Pat was part of our RealTracks Artist "Jazz Pollwinners 2" series in 2014. You can learn about Pat and listen to his RealTracks contribution here.

Pat had been playing guitar since he was just 12 years old, and devoted himself to music in grade ten. On top of years of performing (he began playing professionally in 1961), Pat received many awards for his playing, including the "Jazz Legacy" Award in 2016 presented by Pennsylvania State Senator Vincent Hughes and his wife Sheryl Lee Ralph-Hughes.
