Hi!

There seem to exist two different kinds of markers in RealBand, one of them named "Part Markers" and the other just named "Markers" (which would strictly speaking mean, that if I check both in a copy process, then I'll copy some kind of NonPart-Markers plus two pieces of each Part Marker, btw).

So what kind of markers are those "[Just-]Markers"? What happens if I include them in my copy process resp. what might I miss when I don't include them in my copy process?

The Markers allow a user to select and name regions to designate intro, verse, chorus or whatever and how the users wishes to break out different regions of the tracks.

Hi Charlie,

I thought those are the "Part Markers". So if those are the "Markers", what are the "Part Markers" then?

I think those are the BiaB markers, like on the Chords window how you can make certain measures Blue, or Green, etc. as shown on page 80 of the manual.

Have you looked at that Data Filter yet?
It is a powerful tool I find useful often for copy/cut/paste type edits. It lets you narrow things down.

I agree with Rharv. Part Markers are the BIAB markers on the Chord Sheet.

rharv & Charlie,

ok - I've checked both so far but my files didn't have any BiaB markers, so that's why I couldn't find out what kind of markers those are.

I haven't really used the Data Filter so far, but I'll integrate it more consciously now.

Thanks, U2!

Mark, Part Markers are user input and they're input from the Chord Sheet Page. Select any bar and hit the P key on your keyboard and a Part Marker is set for that bar. Just as in BIAB, the Part Markers alternate between blue and green to designate sub styles.

To change a Part Marker substyle, hit the P key again.

You can also Right Click on a bar to set, change and remove Part Markers.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
