Lately, I start out with one idea and end up with something completely different. When I started this, it was going to be about the world being upside down. Well, here's how it ended up: Here's "Last Night" https://soundcloud.com/captainmoto/last-night?si=6d10c9242fc4412a8574d2ec83073996The Band: Drums - BIAB RealDrums=BluesShuffleHard^1-a Snare, HiHat , b Ride Bass - BIAB 420 Bass, Electric, Blues Sw 120 Organ - BIAB 425 Organ, B3, Background Blues Sw 120 Rhythm Guitar - #1 & #2 Captain Moto, Collings I35 Lead & Fill Guitars - Captain Moto, Strat Percussion - Captain Moto , Korg Kaossilator Main & Backing Vocals - Captain Moto w/Ozone Harmonies Vocal Hmmms - BIAB #3315 Recorded & mixed in Studio One Lyrics: When I opened my eyes this morning, strange strange feeling runn'n thru my head Oh the, dark was light and the day was night, my body was a float'n up off of my bed
It must of been last night baby, You turned my world up side down I'm last night crazy, Can't get my feet back on the ground Last night baby, You turned my world around
I closed my eyes and I hear you call'n, Your voice is whispering in my ear I feel your breath so warm on my skin, The beat of my heart, makes it crystal clear
That it was last night baby, You turned my world up side down I'm last night crazy, Last night baby Last night baby, You turned my world around
My mind is race'n but, I can't catch my breath My nerves are jump'n like electric shock And this reaction, I'm scared to death Now I'm dizzy around the clock
Last night baby, You turned my world up side down I'm last nigh crazy, Can't get my feet back on the ground Last night baby, you turn my world around
And now I'm last night Crazy

Firstly, this is a great illustration of the use of BiaB to support personal instrumental performances. Throw a fine vocal on all that and you have an excellent production. May as well wrap it all in a good mix also ... which you did. Not to mention that we are always down with a swing. Great hook and supporting lyric. We like where it landed! J&B

My head just exploded. You're too kind with your comments. About BIAB; I'm quite frequently amazed at some of the lush productions folks are creating with BIAB. For me it's become a very useful toll to create a foundation to build upon. Glad you stopped in for a listen.

cute song mate. om Thanks, I appreciate the feedback. I debated adding a few more layers, experimented with a few drums and some sort of sparkle but, in the end I let this little song fly.

Very nice blues expressing the craziness in the lyrics with a mysterious feeling. Interestingly, the chords in verses are not in a typical order, which creates a nice effect. Good vocals, I liked the background vocals in the last chorus. The band really works, the guitars sound interesting and the organ fits very well with the mood.

Hi Mo,
It doesn't take much to turn your world upside down! That is what I heard in a very nice Blues from you. Very good vocals in a good tippin'toe song. Nice band too.
Regards, Hans

Gotta agree with Dave on that... an enjoyable listen... has a nice "smoothness" to it... fj

Bob Thanks Bob, I'm smart enough to know I don't have a great voice but, I keep doing my best to make it good enough.

You've built a very cool song on those simple BIAB foundations. Your parts make it happen though.

Captain,
Love that slow driving bluesy sound! The echo/delay on the lead vocal sounds great! This could have been a big hit by the Doors!! Enjoyed it! Thanks, Torrey

CaptainMoto,
Great blues vibe to this and a terrific vocal that really makes the tune pop. Nice treatment on the vocal as well, sits really well in the mix. Production and arrangement are rock solid (like that organ a ton). Terrific write as well . . . which is to say the tune has it all going on. Excellent work!
All my best,
Deej
