Those sophisticated chord progressions and harmonies remind me how much I have to learn about music -- so well constructed.
Great lyrics, production and everything else. Top-notch.

My music may not set the world on fire but if it causes a glow in just one person's heart, it has all been worthwhile smile

Hello, Torrey Bliss...

I'm not an instrumentalist, which pretty much makes me a 'slave', so-to-speak, to BIAB. That causes me to be very appreciative of actual musicians' performance skills, which are wonderously abundant in your song, 'Why Do You Still Love Me?'

The melody, harmonies, and subtext of your lyrics are quite memorable, as once again you wrap the passion of your faith in the language of romantic love.

The result (to my ears, at least), is a song with a 'message' that is equally accessible to listeners who's hearts are enamored with either object of devotion, or both simultaneously.

That's a pretty neat accomplishment for a musician to achieve with his audience, I'm sure, because if the heart is pure, both kinds of love can be spiritually regenerative, reassuring, and rewarding.

Talk about 'crossover' appeal! You got it going on in a BIG way in your song.

I have one 'but'; When your song started you builded up a very nice tension with the guitar.
So I expected 'an explosion' in your chorus. And it looked that way, but then you went down with your vocals.
That was a bit a pity for me, expecting that tsunami of sound.
I realized you could't do that in this song because of the message in your lyrics.
But it was you that gave me that expectation. You talked about a song in the Rock/Blues category.

Nevertheless it is a very nice song!
Hans

Thanks Hans!I contemplated doing a chorus with much more dynamic range in it but opted for the more reserved backing to not detract from the message in the song. I always appreciate your comments! T

Those drums sound Great!! How did you process them? plug-ins?

Gorgeous vocals and BGVs.

And a gorgeous mix. Sweet guitar fills and leads!

How did you record the Peavey bass??? And how did you process that? (I have the same bass, I think. I've never considered trying to use it, but you've opened my eyes to the possibility...)

fj

Thanks Floyd! I had the drums on a stereo track in Studio One with no extra processing, just what was already there in BIAB. They were only enhanced by the eq and compression in the master stereo output for all the tracks. I think the binaural panning I have going on in the master chain helps bring them out a little more. I ran the Peavey Foundation dry with all knobs wide open into the interface and then it was ran through a bass preset in Guitar Rig 5 called "Precise Bottom". T

Thanks Mario! I really like the convenience of just using the Realtracks and the slick sound they provide, but sometimes I'm not able to find the one that will do what I'm hearing in my head for a tune. I appreciate the comments! T

Torrey,

Love your songwriting—no exception here . . . compelling Christian Rock tune. Has a very 80’s retro sound—dunno why but Duran/Duran comes to mind in terms of it’s sound. Vocal is just killer; great backing vocals in that chorus. Really well put together tune in all aspects. Outstanding!

Best regards,

Deej

Ok...that was AWESOME! Trying to pick what I like best would be like trying to pick a favorite child...and you have a HUGE family here!

Have you ever considered joining some Pink Floyd fan sites/pages/groups and getting this music out there? I have a feeling they would LOVE it!!

Stunning job!

One weird question, was all you used from BIAB was the drums, or am I readying that wrong? Either way, WOW!

Oh, yeah, you got it, Torrey! Your talent has no bounds. Yes, the backing tracks are awesome --the perfect bed for such a good melody and excellent vocals. This would be one of my favorite album cuts from your greatest hits --a 3-disc endeavor. You always post the most professionally sounding productions.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Torrey, there is no need to parse this out.

It is outstanding in the most epic manner.

The amount of talent to do all those vocal and instrumental
tracks is simply overwhelming.

We would think that this would be a tremendous song
in the P&W market.

No need to say more other than we most enjoyed it.
