So I use EZ Drummer 2 when making my tracks and create the drum tracks in BIAB or RB.

I have 2 issues:

1. When I open a project from BIAB in RB on my PC it has EZ Drummer 2 already loaded with what seems to the original drum track I did in RB a year or so ago, and I have to go in a either load the proper EZ Drum track manually, even if previously created and saved in RB or BIAB. Anyone have any idea how to remedy this small but nagging problem.

2. I cannot seem to mute the EZ Drum 2 track in RB, no matter what I do. I also use EZ Keys for piano etc and that works no problem. I can mute the drums in BIAB without issue too. Anyone have any idea how to remedy this other small but nagging problem.

Thanks

Tony

1. I do not have an answer, have not seen it and can't test EZ Drum 2
2. Just a thought; have you tried using the VST Plugin window and using the Bypass checkbox for that plugin .. or seeing if the Plugin itself has a bypass option?

Just a thought

Rharv,

Thanks for the replies.

Actually by some stroke of luck or serendipity I have managed to fix issue #1, well I didn't but it is fixed.

It seems that RB crashed and I chose reset to default settings, which in turn fixed the EZ Drummer 2 issue of not loading the old drum track and actually loads the correct one when closed and opened...yay.

As for #2...still no joy but I'm sure it's something really obvious or dumb that I'm not doing or doing. As for the Bypass check box, yes I can do that but I am thinking it should work as all other tracks do when muted, but hey.

Thanks

Tony

It all depends on the VST being used. If it and RB don't "play nice" in some aspects, you may need to try another route.

I report the not being able to mute EZDrummer ages ago when I used RealBand.

https://www.reaper.fm/reaplugs/

https://www.sonalksis.com/freeg.html

Under EZD in FX load reastream-standalone set to send local
under reastream-standalone load sonalksis and mute it

on empty audio track load reastream-standalone set to receive and copy a piece of an empty audio item at the end of that track to enable the FX.

You could take it further and use the sends from EZDvst and route them to individual tracks in RB.
You can use KV Element and hook a reastream up to each out that will send to a different track.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
