Hi, ich habe die letzten 10 Jahre mit Musik leider nicht mehr viel am Hut gehabt. Jetzt fange ich wieder an. Meine Biab Version ist von 2011 und ich frage mich, ob sich ein Upgrade auf die 2021er Version lohnt oder ob meine 2011 Ultra Pack ausreicht.
Ich brauche die Software hauptsächlich um mir Leadsheats mit Text, Tabs usw. zu erstellen und ggf. mal zu einem Playalong zu jammen.
Gibt es irgendwo eine Art Tabelle, wo man die Neuerungen sehen kann? Falls ihr ein Upgrade empfehlt, reicht dann die Grundversion oder wieder die deutlich teurere Ultra Pack Version.

Hallo mos,
Herzlich willkomen im Forum.
Die Frage kannst du in erster Linie natürlich nur selbst entscheiden, und es hängt wirklich sehr davon ab, wie du BiaB einsetzt und ein bisschen auch, welches Instrument Du selbst spielst (Gitarre?). Und klar, es hängt natürlich auch davon ab, wie viel du in dein Hobby investieren möchtest.
Aber ich kann gern ein paar Gründe nennen, die aus meiner Sicht für ein Upgrade sprechen. Es sind seit der BiaB-Version 2011 viele neue Programmfunktionen hinzugekommen, unter anderem die Möglichkeit, BiaB als Plugin in einer DAW-Software zu betreiben. Dazu gekommen sind seitdem u.a. RealCharts, eine Funktion, um Realtracks notiert anzuzeigen und auszudrucken (cool fürs Lernen der Solis z.B.). Band in a Box ist inzwischen eine 64-Bit-Anwendung und läuft bestens unter Windows 10 und 11. Es enthält jetzt eine VST-Schnittstelle, um aktuelle VST-Synths anzusteuern, damit können viel bessere Sounds gerade auch bei den MIDI-Instrumente erreicht werden. Seit der Version 2011 sind auch sehr viele neue RealTracks und RealStyles hinzugekommen. Du kannst in jedem Fall alle deine alten 2011er-Styles und Songfiles weiterverwenden, PGMusic (die Entwickler von Band in a Box) legt großen Wert auf Rückwärtskompatibiltät, es spielt auch Songfiles von 1990 noch ab.
Es gibt keine Versionsübersicht seit Version 2011 im Netz, aber evtl. bekommst du das beim PG-Support direkt (support@pgmusic.com). Die sind sehr hilfsbereit.
Wenn du ein Upgrade erwägst, würde ich dir raten, noch bis Anfang/Mitte Dezember zu warten. Dann erscheint die neue Version 2022 (zunächst englisch, das lässt sich später kostenlos mit der deutschen Sprachversion ergänzen) und es wird dann erfahrungsgemäß wieder ein stark vergünstigtes Upgrade-Angebot geben. Dann ist es besonders attraktiv, dein 2011er Ultrapak auf das 2022er Ultrapak zu bringen. Das "normale" Upgrade von Ultrapak 2011 auf Ultrapak 2022 liegt hier im Shop bei rund 300 $, es ist gut denkbar, dass es im Angebot dann bei deutlich unter 200 $ liegen wird und es wird noch ein Bonuspak gratis dazugeben.

Hi, "lohnt" ist sehr subjektiv. Betrachtet man die Fähigkeiten von 2021 zu 2011 dann ist es keine Frage: es lohnt sich.
Ob du die neuen Funktionen brauchst: dazu 2 Antworten. Das was du möchtest kannst du wohl auch mit der alten Version, spart Geld, bringt Einschränkungen und je nachdem auch Mühen. Mit der neuen Version geht vieles besser (ich arbeite nur noch mit 64Bit). Ich hab die Komplettversion mit vielen Realtracks, das hat den Nachteil dass man sich manchmal in den vielen Styles verlieren kann. Teilweise einfach schön da zuzuhören. Das kostet Zeit, macht aber Vergnügen.
Letztendlich kommt es drauf an wieviel Geld du zur Verfügung hast und ob es viel für dich ist oder eher nicht.
