Sort of a suave version of JJ Cale. Very nice! Enjoyed it a lot, and like everyone else, I got a kick out of the Sears line. Great work!
Hello TN ... yeah, I think you're right about a little bit of JJ Cale sound to it. I'll take that as a really great compliment - thanks! That Sears line just came from no where. Glad it did! Many thanks! Take care ... Alan

My kind of music, Alan (I'm quite a fan of Leon Redbone, by the way). Excellent write and your vocal suits it to a tee. Love the photo, too. Regards, Leon Hi leon ... So nice to hear from you. I, too, am a big Leon Redbone fan. We lost a good when he passed. I had to think twice about posting that picture - didn't want to give too many folks nightmares. Many thanks for the listen and your really nice comments. Take care ... Alan

Hello Alan,
Very nice blues song! Your vocal perfectly fits this. 3 piece acoustic band is very cool. Your instrumental tunes are great, of course, but your vocal songs are much more characteristic. Enjoyed my listen a lot.
Best regards.
Shigeki Adachi Hi Shigeki ... Thank you for your very nice comments. I do appreciate them. Glad you liked the vocal on this one. Thank you for letting me know. Take care ... Alan

Alan, nice little 3 piece acoustic blues piece. Good vocal. Sometimes simple is so much better. With all the instrument choice in BIAB it can be quite difficult not to be tempted into overproduction. Nicely done, Tom

Hi Tom ...
Glad you liked the song. And yeah, narrowing it down to just a few instruments can be a tough decision. But, I got lucky with this band - it's the three instruments indigenous to the style. So, I didn't change anything - just went with the guys BIAB had already selected. It's usually not that easy!
Thanks again. Take care ...
Alan

This song HAD to have YOUR voice on it. It is an absolutely perfect fit to this excellent song.
I love it when someone can put together a song with exactly what it needs. Nothing more, nothing less. It shows you know what you're doing.
I truly enjoyed this and love the vibe of it. I don't anyone else on the forum could pull off what you just did.
Thanks a million for making this song!

Love how you switch genres so effortlessly. Super vocal and lyric. Excellent backtrack. Guitar was perfect. Well done Hi Scott ... I've always enjoyed listening to, and playing, various genres of music. Growing up I listen to a lot of classic country, pop rock of the era and jazz (Tony Bennet, Etta James, etc.). Glad it works for you. I appreciate you letting me know. Take care ... Alan

Leon Redbone was quirky and unique - but so danged entertaining. I started out to just do a traditional bluesy acoustic. But as I played with the lyric and started singing, it just fell into the Redbone feel, so I went with it. Glad you liked it. Best to you ... Alan

Thanks a million for making this song! Hi Aaron ... So, what does one say after such a wonderful review? First, a very heartfelt thank you. With most acoustic compositions I venture into, I try to keep them relatively simple. The acoustic sound aura, to me, begs for a direct, simple production. Let each instrument do its job and stay out their respective paths. If you clutter it too much, it starts to sound more like cacophonous noise. So, that's my approach, in simplest terms. Your kind words were so much more than I had anticipated I would receive. You made an old guy very happy! Many sincere thanks! Hope all is well with you & yours. Take care ... Alan

Simply sensational, Alan. Love the changes, and the prefect vocal. The all-acoustic band was a great choice. So good, and a very interesting blues song. And, man, you looked like one bad-[*****] dude when the Beatles landed in the US.

And, man, you looked like one bad-[*****] dude when the Beatles landed in the US. Thank you so much, Marty. I'm delighted you liked it. It was one of those things that just happened. No long story of inspiration or the like. Sometimes the muse just throws something at you and you thank her and go with it. When I look at those earlier pics of myself, I'm always amused - no mustache! The last time I shaved off my mustache was November of 1971. Ha! Wishing you the very best ... Alan

A nice slinky vocal backed by the perfect sparse band. "Don’t come cryin’, I got no will to dry your tears If you got no hankie, they probably got one down at Sears I’m done as your fool, like I was for all those years" Cool. And soon Sears shall pass. The pic is worth the price of admission. My mother used to have one of Bud of that style hanging around the house. The main difference? I had Beach Boys bleached blond hair. 1963 ya know J&B

Hi Alan, Nice to hear one of your songs again! We don't remember if we heard it years ago, but it really sounds great now! The band is just enough for this kind of song and your voice sounds so well!

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
