This is the original instrumental that was developed into a vocal. Ray took the instrumental reworked the melody to be more suitable for a vocal and wrote a cool lyric. It was then we approached Janice and Bud to see if she would like to sing it and if Bud would assist finalizing the production. Then after which Bud and Janice did the awesome video for the song.

This song was originally created in 2012 and sat for a long time without getting much love. I would go back an revisit it from time to time experiment with different riffs. After the concept of it was starting to take shape it became a staple in my daily guitar playing.

This is the instrumental version of the song.

Scott ....

What a beautiful music soundscape you created. I can see why this became such a terrific full production. Of course, having Janice & Bud in your "studio" can only shine another bright light on it. And Ray did a great job with his pen and paper - that lyric is just so good.

But your original music is a great inspiration for all that followed. Everything starts somewhere. This couldn't have been a better starting point. Excellent!

Take care ...

Alan

Very pretty - both the song, and the location shots! smile

It's a very lush soundscape! Well played, sung, produced... The whole package.

Plus, it's always nice to see a BiaB member in action! laugh

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Hi Scott,

this is simply a darn good song - with or without vocals (although Janice's vocal can't be beaten, I think).

The tome of the guitar is very nice and fits the song so well.

Take care,

Stefan

Hello Scott
great instrumental version
The guitar solo is played with so much feeling
It fits perfectly
And the melody at 3:01 is just great
I have listened to it over and over again
It doesn't get any better than this
Great job
Many greetings
Andi ;-)

Oh, yes, I love the vocal and video version, but, man, your guitar always draws my attention, Scott. Such wonderful tone and taste.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Scott, it’s a good thing that this didn’t stay on the shelf too long. A beautiful instrumental idea that was developed into a full blown ballad. Ray and J&B’s contributions certainly are the right elements that made this happen. Good work from all of you, Tom

When I see Scott, Ray, Janice, and Bud in the same song I know that I am in for some fantastic ear and eye candy. This production includes both.

Outstanding guitar, bass, and vocals mixed perfectly with the BiaB backing tracks. The video was pro all the way.

Loved it.

Hi Scott,

I saw the video a while ago, really well done, and of course Janice is a star.

But man, the instrumental version really works well too! As I've said many times before, you have a knack for coming up with great melodies. Great tone too, and production is top notch.

Enjoyed!

I'm sure I saw this before but I may have failed to comment, which happens sometimes. Sorry.

Lovely. The guitar playing is superb, as always. Great vocals and lyrics. Excellent production. The video is very good too. A successful collaboration.

Scott,
Interesting to see how the tune has developed. Nice from the conception, but your musical friends took it to the next level. Enjoyed both versions. Thank you for sharing.

This was a cool song from the original idea to the video production. Fun stuff to listen to and to watch.

Janice looked like she was having fun in the video shoot.

Good stuff.

Thanks Dave. It took a long time to find the melody on this song. The idea to start turning some of my instrumentals to vocals came from Robert Cordrey. As the vocal range of the guitar is quite wide it was hard finding someone that had the range to sing them. Happily Janice handled them with ease and elegance. Greg Johnson did a great job on one of them as well. Glad you liked the song..

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
