Wow! It is so incredible! I never knew this would happen to me!

Oliver Gannon, the greatest Canadian Jazz Guitarist of all time, well maybe just THE greatest guitarist of all time anywhere, played on MY new Christmas tune!!

How in the world was I able to pull this off! I don’t know, but Happy Holidays everyone!!!!!!

Another White Christmas

V1

I want to sing about another white Christmas
A Christmas that's whiter than white
There's a white Christmas snow
and bright mistletoe
In the country club clubhouse tonight

CH:

Bing Crosby and Friends
The fun never ends
With Buffy and Timmy and Slim
Every song is so gay
And we can't wait to play
Another game of Christmas croquette

V2

Just like yesteryear
All the dreams we hold dear
Will come true with white Christmas cheer
The white stars are so bright
And red Santa's in sight
For another white Christmas tonight

CH:

Bing Crosby and Friends
The fun never ends
With Buffy and Timmy and Slim
Everyone is so gay
And we can't wait to play
Another game of Christmas Charades

V2 (repeat)

Just like yesteryear
All the dreams we hold dear
Will come true with white Christmas cheer
The white stars are so bright
And red Santa's in sight
For another white Christmas tonight

Hi, David.

I get the feeling there's some sort of subtext to this song, but I can't quite figure it out... wink

And playing "Christmas croquet" is a real thing, right? laugh

Fun song!

The next time someone asks me to sing "with a bit more upper crust" in my voice, I'll know what they're talking about.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Sir David,

Excellent use of BIAB - to capture that magical Bing-era holiday sound (not Chandler Bing).

I do hope you were wearing a white tux with top hat and dancing cane.

Great use of the horns and BIAB vocals.
Oliver did you proud.

Excellent.

Happy Everything.

David, you really nailed the "Bing-era big band Christmas genre".

This must have been a hard to do mix with all that is going on, however you nailed it!

Super vocal also.

loved it

PS - it is hard to play croquet in the snow here! But I've never been that drunk wink

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

WOW!! This whole piece is incredible, David. First of all, just writing a Christmas classic like this is daunting enough, but putting it all together so well is unimaginable. Man, there is so much going on in the mix, and yet each track shines through. This song is even better on the 2nd spin, and that's what Christmas songs are supposed to be.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Subtext or not smile this is a trip back for us.

My parents were big band folks and I got exposed to it in the 50's.
And Janice is a big fan of film from the Bing era.

All meaning it, as said current vernacular, resonated.

As others have said the band is outstanding,
Excellent use of the horns.

The write and arrangement are perfecto for the vibe!

Good stuff there Mr. Dave. I liked the horns and the trip back in time. This made it feel like Christmas even with the eighty-degree weather here.

Thanks for a pleasant stroll down memory lane.

Thanks Bob. I am a member of SongTradr. I know of Taxi, but stopped messing with them from back in the day of their 5 dollar a pop mail in submissions where you never heard a peep.

Let me know if you see any listings anywhere! Thanks!!

Hey David ...

Another Christmas Classic in waiting? Could be! Love the big band style. I grew up listening to quite a bit of it. Ya don't think I'm that old? I can actually remember when Harry Truman was president! And nope, no arthritis, back pain, I can still run (not do the old man shuffle) and run 2 miles under 21 minutes! I've been so nicely blessed!

This was such a treat to hear. Still smiling as I type.

Best to you.

Alan

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
